Athena Reportedly Injured at ROH TV Tapings – According to PWInsider, ROH Women’s Champion Athena sustained an injury to her left leg during a match against Viva Van at the recent Ring of Honor (ROH) television tapings.
The incident occurred when Van ducked and pulled down the middle rope as Athena was running towards her, causing Athena to spill to the floor. Upon getting back up, Athena was visibly limping. Despite the injury, Athena managed to finish the match, securing a win with a forearm smash.
Athena communicated her injury to the referee after Van kicked out of the first pin attempt. Although she remained in character post-match, she was noticeably struggling, hopping backstage with the assistance of the referee and another staff member.
Once backstage, Athena was checked by medical personnel, but the extent of her injury is currently unknown. Athena has been the ROH Women’s Champion for over 518 days, making this injury a significant concern for her reign and future matches. Further updates on her condition and the impact on her championship status are awaited.
