Stratton, the reigning WWE Women’s Champion, selected Trish Stratus to face her at Evolution, marking a major generational clash for the all-women’s show. However, before she could make the announcement uninterrupted, Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill made her presence felt with a clear warning.
Cargill, who is set to challenge for the WWE Women’s Title at SummerSlam, interrupted Stratton during her segment and told her, “If you pick wrong, you might not even make it to SummerSlam.” The tension hinted at high stakes surrounding Stratton’s decision.
Despite the interruption, Stratton brought out Stratus to confirm her choice. The seven-time Women’s Champion reflected emotionally on her legacy, saying “Evolution was everything we fought for back in the day”, and noted that her children have never seen her as champion.
