Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed tonight’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view and Meltzer backed up the recent rumors about Edge on Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio.
Meltzer said he was led to believe that Edge is likely a surprise entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble and that he’s been led to believe and “hinted” that this will be happening tonight at the PPV. This has been rumored for months, with Mike Johnson of pwinsider not only reporting it, but doubling down when Edge went on record to deny the reports.
If Edge does indeed return tonight, the assumption would be that he’s likely going to be wrestling in a few months at WrestleMania and Johnson has also noted that the Hall of Famer has not only been cleared to return to wrestle, but that he’s signed a new contract with WWE as well.
