The NXT women’s championship match between Shayna Baszler and Rhea Ripley closed out this week’s episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network.
Ripley had to battle the odds as she had to deal with the Horsewomen and in the final minutes of the match, she was locked in the Kirafuta Clutch but she was somehow able to battle back and she broke out of it.
Rhea Ripley locked in the Prism trap submission on Baszler but the hold was broken. Ripley delivered an avalanche riptide off the top rope to get the pin and the win to become champion in an awesome match.
Ripley was the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Champion, but this is her first reign with the main NXT title. Baszler won the title back at WWE Evolution on October 28, 2018, by defeating current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane.
