According to recent reports, Batista was in talks for a WWE return as Ronda Rousey’s partner at Wrestlemania, but the discussions fell through for a somewhat surprising reason.
Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed an earlier report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter about Batista being in talks about being Rousey’s partner, and went on to say he had several conversations with Triple H about the role. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the talks went well enough where it looked like this match could be used to plants the seeds for a Wrestlemania 35 match between Triple H and Batista, which is a match Batista has publicly said he would welcome.
From there, it was said talks stopped sometime in January, and while Batista had a ‘strong feeling’ he would be at this year’s event, he never heard from Triple H or WWE about the match. Kurt Angle was later announced as Rousey’s partner, and it was said that Batista was not notified or even given a courtesy call about it, even after he reached out to them for an update.
