The heated opening promo exchange involving LA Knight and Roman Reigns on WWE RAW established high stakes heading into Money in the Bank.
The rivalry for the World Heavyweight Championship reached a boiling point as LA Knight and Roman Reigns stood face-to-face to open WWE RAW on October 5.
Following the events of WWE RAW in Mexico—where Knight launched a physical assault on Reigns inside the ring to force his attention—the challenger earned his official opportunity at the top title. However, the World Heavyweight Champion was quick to dismiss Knight’s aggressive strategy during their ring encounter, claiming Knight took a cowardly approach to secure a championship opportunity.
During their promo segment, Reigns insisted that Knight had always been on his radar, but dismissed any notion that the two operate on equal footing in WWE.
“You’ve said way too much,” Reigns told Knight. “You’ve got these people thinking we’re on the same level and that couldn’t be any further from the truth. I’m a do-er. You’re a complainer.”
Reigns went on to categorize Knight as just another obstacle in his championship trajectory, warning that he plans to break him when they collide this Saturday at Money in the Bank.
Knight immediately fired back with a fiery rebuttal, taking aim at the corporate backing behind Reigns’ rise to the top of the wrestling business.
“You’re the most manufactured, corporate puppet, industry plant I’ve ever seen in my life,” Knight declared. “They shoved the rocket so far up your a*, I’m surprised you’re not spitting out rocket fuel.”*
Closing out the confrontation, Knight vowed to walk out of Money in the Bank as the new World Heavyweight Champion, asserting that Reigns would be powerless to stop him.
