A potential shocker could be on the horizon for WWE Money in the Bank, as reports indicate internal discussions have taken place regarding a major title change in the main event picture.
LA Knight is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the upcoming October 10 premium live event in New Orleans, and creative pitches have reportedly floated the idea of Knight dethroning “The Tribal Chief.”
Solo Sikoa and WarGames Creative Pitch
According to a report from Self Made Pro, one specific scenario being discussed involves Solo Sikoa interfering in the match, directly costing Reigns the World Heavyweight Championship to jumpstart a larger story progression:
“The one idea that was bandied about and talked about was LA Knight potentially beating Roman Reigns in a shock title win,” the report detailed. “One of the ideas that was talked about was it involving Solo and then playing into the WarGames storyline, and that being the catalyst to pull Roman into a storyline that, at the moment, he’s been avoiding.”
The narrative logic relies on breaking Reigns’ current detached posture. As the storyline stands, Reigns has isolated himself from the surrounding faction warfare:
“The whole thing that they’re telling right now is Roman’s basically like, ‘I’m not worried about none of these other guys that you guys are fighting. Like, you guys deal with that. I’m the Tribal Chief,’” the report continued. “This idea would be that him losing tonight would then drag him into the whole big conflict.”
Rematch From 2023
A title change in New Orleans would mark a massive turning point for both superstars. Knight and Reigns previously clashed for world title gold in late 2023, where Reigns successfully retained the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
