Reports regarding Jacob Fatu WWE absence reason suggest the car hit-and-run angle was written to allow him time off to film a secret project.
Jacob Fatu was absent from the October 5 episode of WWE RAW in St. Louis following a dramatic storyline write-off on the previous week’s broadcast, where he was hit by a car.
Reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided insight into Fatu’s current hiatus from television. According to Meltzer, the written injury angle was executed to facilitate Fatu’s temporary absence while he works on an unannounced WWE project alongside Drew McIntyre and TNA’s Joe Hendry.
“The Jacob thing, I believe Jacob and Joe Hendry and Drew McIntyre are doing some WWE show, filming of the show,” Meltzer stated. “So that explains why Jacob is out, that angle with Jacob.”
Despite the shared project, Hendry still appeared live on Monday’s edition of RAW. His segment featured another rendition of his custom song targeting JD McDonagh alongside a Funko Pop gag.
Specific details regarding the project Fatu, Hendry, and McIntyre are filming remain unconfirmed, and WWE has not provided an official timeline for Fatu’s return to television.
Meanwhile, Fatu’s Bloodline stablemates remain active on the red brand. Jimmy and Jey Uso are set to team up with their younger brother Solo Sikoa against Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price of The 946 in a six-man tag team match on next week’s broadcast.
