Former WWE Superstar Enzo Amore (REAL1) has found himself at the center of social media backlash after comments from a newly released interview with Maven Huffman went viral. During the discussion, Amore took aim at AEW regarding how the promotion handles backstage altercations and physical fights.
Addressing rumors about his own backstage physical fights during his tenure with WWE, Amore contrasted how the two companies handle internal issues.
“If I fist-fought another guy in the locker room, you probably never heard of it because I probably fucking won, right? I appreciate that,” Amore said during the interview. “What happens in the WWE locker room, as far as fistfights, never left. Fuck AEW for all the bitch ass fighting that they do over there and letting it leak and shit. It wasn’t that way when I was [in WWE]. We are some bad asses that you got to keep some credibility in that locker room.”
Enzo Amore Clarifies Interview Timeline And Criticizes Release Date
Following immediate backlash from fans on social media, Amore took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify the situation. According to Amore, the interview with Maven was recorded over a year ago in March 2025.
Furthermore, Amore expressed frustration over the timing of the release, noting that it came less than a week after AEW held a tribute show for his former WWE colleague and friend PAC (Benjamin Satterley), who tragically passed away in late September.
“I talked to Maven in March of 2025,” Amore wrote. “He waited to come off the heels of a beautiful tribute show for PAC to post the interview. I thought the tribute show was absolute class. Everyone who paid tribute, thank you for honoring Ben. I’m still grieving, Maven is clearly not.”
Maven has not publicly responded to Amore’s comments regarding the timing of the video upload.
