Former TNT Champion Sammy Guevara has offered a brief update regarding his current status as he continues to sit on the sidelines, sharing a workout picture on his social media alongside a message about his ongoing absence from AEW, Ring of Honor, and CMLL.
Guevara’s television footprint across Tony Khan’s promotions has been sporadic since early summer. Speculation regarding his standing intensified in July when fans noticed a update to his social media profile that omitted AEW. The change prompted AEW President Tony Khan to publicly clarify the situation during a media call, explaining that Guevara reached out to him directly to confirm there was no malice behind the update and asserting that his contract status with the company remained unchanged.
Taking to his YouTube channel over the weekend, “The Spanish God” shared a picture of himself working out in the gym. Addressing his hiatus from ring action directly, Guevara kept the message simple:
“All I can do is stay ready.”
Despite the ongoing speculation, Guevara remains under contract with AEW. However, with his television appearances on pause and no creative return timeline announced, the multi-time champion continues to await his next assignment.
