WWE Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable is bringing championship gold to the WWE NXT touring loop this weekend.
The company announced that Gable will defend his Intercontinental Championship tonight against rising NXT star Saquon Shugars at the NXT live event in Columbia, South Carolina, hosted at the historic Township Auditorium. Main roster star IYO SKY is also scheduled to appear on the card.

Gable’s upcoming title defense continues WWE’s strategy of pairing main-event main roster veterans with developing talent on the road:
- Gable’s Championship Run: Gable captured the Intercontinental Championship from Penta at SummerSlam in August. He most recently successfully retained the title against Dragon Lee on the September 14 broadcast of WWE RAW from Mexico City.
