WWE SmackDown Results – August 7, 2026 – Welcome to WrestlingAttitude’s live coverage results of WWE SmackDown on August 7, from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
We begin with a solemn graphic honoring the life and legacy of Dory Funk Jr., the screen holding for a moment as the crowd in the arena stays quiet, giving the tribute its weight.
Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring. The crowd rises with him, the noise building as he steps through the curtain. He pauses on the stage, taking in the reaction, then heads down the ramp with that familiar purpose in his stride. Cody enters the ring, looks around at the audience, and prepares to speak as the show officially gets underway.
Cody stands in the ring and wastes no time. He wants Randy Orton, and he wants him now. He says everyone in Philadelphia wants it, so why not do it right here, right now?
While they wait, Cody shifts gears and asks what Philadelphia wants to talk about. He says he wants to talk about memories — the kind that stay with you. He mentions the passing of Dory Funk Jr., then moves to WrestleMania 40. He asks where John Cena was, where Sami Zayn was, and where Randy Orton was. Cody says that this weekend, he lost in the center of the ring to the best in the world, CM Punk. He adds that he’s going to assume Punk didn’t know Randy was going to slide in and hit him with an RKO.
Cody says the name… and the riff hits. CM Punk walks to the ring.
Punk says he heard his name, so he wanted his music to hit before his friend asked him anything. He asks Cody if there’s something he wants to know.
Cody asks Punk if he knew Randy was going to be there over the weekend.
Punk says it kind of hurts to hear that, but no — he didn’t know Randy was there, and he didn’t know Randy hit an RKO. Punk says he’s not as mad as Cody, but he’s pissed. He says they can team up, two‑man power trip style, find Randy, and kick his ass together.
Cody says he needs the answer from Randy himself — and he’ll kick Randy’s ass alone.
Cody steps out of the ring, leaving Punk behind.
Punk calls after him, telling Cody that unfinished business is unfinished business — just say when.
Kevin Owens’ music hits. Owens walks right past Cody in the aisle and heads straight to the ring. Cody hands him the microphone as they cross paths.
Owens and Punk move closer, exchanging words as the tension rises.
Nick Aldis steps onto the apron, standing between them in the background.
Kevin says he didn’t see Nick there, but they’re pros. Nick told them they have to be professionals.
Punk asks if Kevin is here to claim his title shot.
Kevin says he wrestles in shorts, not pants — and yes, he wants to wrestle Punk. That’s all he’s wanted to do for the last seventeen months. He says that’s a long time to be told you might never get to do what you love again. Kevin says he didn’t choose to leave; he was forced out, living in uncertainty. He says he’s spent his entire career proving people wrong, and here he is.
Kevin listens to the crowd and fires right back, saying he never lost a step — and they’re proving him right tonight. For three years, people have been telling him to give Phil another chance, saying Punk has changed, that he’s a different guy now. Kevin says he never bought any of it. He knows exactly who Punk is, and Punk has done nothing but prove him right. Kevin says Punk showed his arrogance the moment he told Cody to “say when,” and Kevin reminds him that he is the number one contender.
Kevin says he isn’t surprised Punk thinks he’s better than him — Punk thinks he’s better than everyone. That’s why Punk is still the same arrogant sociopath he’s always been.
Punk says people love when he calls himself the best in the world. He tells everyone around them to clear out because he can handle this himself. Punk says some might not like it when he calls himself the best in the world, but he backs it up. The title means he’s the best in the world. Punk says he doesn’t understand why Kevin can’t appreciate the arrogance — Kevin benefited the most from guys like Punk kicking the door down. Punk says they called him skinny‑fat. He asks Kevin if he really thinks anyone was waiting around for Kevin Owens.
Kevin tells Phil it’s been ten years since Punk last held a World Championship. He says he’s pictured winning the title so many times, and it always felt great — but now it can be even better, because he doesn’t just get to win the title… he gets to humble Punk and beat his ass for it.
Punk says it’s good to have impossible dreams, and he says he can see Kevin is scared. Punk tells him he should practice gratitude. Punk says Kevin would be working a nine‑to‑five, being a weekend warrior, asking Punk for tickets for him and his kid. Punk says Kevin claims Punk thinks he’s the best in the world — Punk says he knows he is, and so does everyone else.
Kevin says Punk is right — he should be grateful. He should thank Punk for blazing the trail and kicking the doors down. He should thank Punk for showing him exactly what not to do, what not to become, how not to treat people around him. Kevin says Punk showed him what happens when someone believes the crap coming out of their own mouth when they call themselves the best in the world. Kevin says Punk must be so lonely on that pedestal. Kevin thanks Punk, because seeing what Punk has become made him choose not to be a miserable piece of s*** like Punk.
Kevin shoves Punk, and officials rush in to separate them.
Kevin looks at Nick Aldis and tells him to make the match.
Charlotte Flair & Jade Cargill — Backstage
Cathy Kelley is with Charlotte Flair and asks about the situation between her and Jade Cargill.
Charlotte says it’s been years since they first crossed paths. She remembers Jade walking right up to her the night she arrived, showing strength, showing presence, showing that she wanted to be the top woman from day one. Charlotte says tonight isn’t about that — tonight she’s fighting for Lexi. She says Jade has her attention after telling Lexi’s daughter that her mother would be okay. Charlotte finishes by telling Jade to come alone.
Trick Williams
At Gorilla, Trick Williams steps up to Baron Corbin and tells him he’s getting his rematch. Trick says the only reason Corbin has the title is because he cheated and took shortcuts. Trick says Corbin doesn’t have what it takes to beat him straight up. He says he’s going to beat Corbin down, and he’s doing it for himself. Trick heads to the ring.
Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin — United States Championship
Trick doesn’t wait for anything. He charges straight at Baron, but Corbin meets him with a double‑leg takedown. Trick fights free and sends Baron to the floor, chopping him across the chest. He slams Corbin into the ring post and chops him again. Trick then launches Corbin over the ringside barricade with an Irish whip, sending him crashing into the timekeeper’s area. Trick follows with a plancha as the match spills everywhere.
They move back toward the ring, Trick still chopping away. He fires punches and rolls Corbin inside. Trick hits a shoulder tackle that knocks Corbin right back out to the floor. Corbin answers with a punch and drives Trick into the ring steps. Trick fires back with punches and a kick, but Corbin shuts him down with a back elbow. Corbin chops him, punches him, and stomps him in the corner. Trick tries to fight out, but Corbin keeps cutting him off with kicks and shots.
Corbin unloads a few more punches, then whips Trick hard into the corner. Corbin swings for a clothesline but misses, and Trick fires off a series of jumping side kicks before planting Corbin with a spinebuster. Trick slaps Corbin and hits the meme kicks in the corner. He hoists Corbin up and drops him with a sit‑out Death Valley Driver for a count of two.
Corbin blocks the uranage and tries to muscle Trick up, but Trick slips free and cracks him with a cyclone kick. Corbin answers with Deep Six for a close count. They trade punches in the center of the ring until Trick hits a jumping neckbreaker and clotheslines Corbin over the top rope to the floor.
Corbin grabs Trick and runs him into the ring post, then hammers him with forearms. Corbin throws Trick back into the ring and reaches for the championship belt.
The referee pulls the title belt out of Corbin’s hands, and Trick takes advantage with a uranage for a close count. Trick lines up the running knee, but Corbin cuts him off. Trick resets, leaps in, and connects with the jumping knee — Corbin barely survives by getting his hand on the bottom rope.
Corbin rolls to the floor, grabs the championship again, and this time he uses it. He blasts Trick with the belt as Trick leans through the ropes, and Corbin dives into the cover for the three.
Winner: Baron Corbin
Nick Aldis, Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens — Backstage
Nick Aldis is on the phone when Sami Zayn walks up. Sami says he wanted to congratulate Nick on his SummerSlam performance.
Then Sami gets right to it. He asks how many times he’s going to get screwed over by Nick’s decisions. Sami says he would have been champion if Nick hadn’t added CM Punk in Chicago. He says he would be the number one contender now if Nick hadn’t added Gunther and Kevin Owens.
Kevin Owens arrives, and Nick tells them they have things to handle.
Kevin says he wants his title match in Toronto on August 21st.
Kevin welcomes Sami back, but says Sami doesn’t look sincere.
Sami says he is happy to see Kevin back. He says Kevin now has a title match, a chance to win the championship in Toronto. Sami wants Kevin to admit that Kevin’s return screwed Sami.
Kevin says it messed things up for Sami.
Sami asks Kevin to say he’s sorry.
Kevin says he’s sorry it affected Sami — but Sami would have done the same thing in his position. Kevin reminds him that he won his last match before the injury, and it was against Sami.
Sami says he wants to see Kevin win the title, more than he wants Punk to win.
Kevin says he doesn’t want Sami’s help.
Sami tells Kevin he won’t stop chasing what he wants, because it’s what Kevin wants too.

Baron Corbin — Backstage Interview
Cathy stops Baron in the back and asks him about what she calls two upsets.
Baron is immediately offended. He asks how anyone could consider him an underdog. He says it’s because nobody believed in him, and he hopes every doubter feels stupid now. Corbin says Trick Williams will never get his hands on the United States Championship again. He says there isn’t a single man in the locker room who can step to him.
Carmelo Hayes walks into frame and jumps Corbin, taking him down with punches.
Hayes tells Corbin that next week, they’re meeting for the title — in Hayes’ hometown.

Chelsea Green, Tiffany Stratton & Fatal Influence — In‑Ring Segment
Chelsea Green stands in the ring and says she loves the fans, thanking them for sticking with her from the very beginning and pledging their allegiance. She says she appreciates every one of them — and she thanks her best friend, Tiffany Stratton. Stratton’s music hits and she walks out to join her.
Chelsea apologizes to Tiffany for everything that happened in the Five‑Way Ladder Match at SummerSlam. She says their friendship is stronger than any match, and she proposes a toast. Tiffany says she actually wanted to talk to Chelsea about something — but Fatal Influence’s music hits, cutting her off.
Jacy Jayne, Lainey Reid, and Fallon Henley make their way out.
Jayne says that’s enough of the cringey little soap opera. She says she would’ve been in the Interim Women’s Championship Ladder Match if not for Tiffany. Reid says Fatal Influence would be dripping in gold right now if Tiffany hadn’t gotten in their way. Henley adds that Chelsea doesn’t deserve to be Interim Women’s Champion.
Jayne says she now has to take away the thing Chelsea loves most. She says she thought she’d put the final nail in the coffin by taking the Women’s Tag Team Championship from Fatal Influence — but since Tiffany wants to talk, Tiffany can talk with a title match. Tiffany steps forward and offers Jayne a championship match right now. Jayne accepts on behalf of Fatal Influence.

Fatal Influence (w/ Jacy Jayne) vs. Chelsea Green & Tiffany Stratton — Women’s Tag Team Championship
Lainey Reid starts things off with Chelsea Green. The bell rings, and Stratton immediately tags herself in. Stratton hits a shotgun dropkick that sends Reid stumbling, but Fallon Henley tags in and catches Stratton with a single‑leg dropkick to the side of the head. Green tags back in, and she and Stratton hit synchronized knees to the back of Henley’s head.
Stratton and Green follow with double dives to Henley and Reid on the outside. During the break, Henley takes control, raining down right hands on Green. Reid tags in and delivers Hammer‑and‑Anvil elbows to Green. Henley returns and hits a middle‑rope blockbuster. Reid tags back in and keeps Green grounded with punches and a submission hold. Henley cuts off Green’s attempt to reach Stratton.
Back from the break, Green manages a German suplex on Reid and finally tags Stratton. Stratton hits Reid with a pair of clotheslines and a back elbow, then knocks Henley off the apron with another shotgun dropkick. She follows with a cartwheel Alabama Slam on Reid.
Stratton climbs and hits a Swanton Bomb on Reid, then tags Green. Reid climbs the ropes, but Green yanks her down and sets up for the Unprettier. Jayne pulls Stratton off the apron and nails Green with Rolling Encore. Stratton takes out Jayne, but Henley tags in behind the chaos and hits Fatal Flaw on Green, securing the three count.
Winners (and still champions): Fatal Influence
After the match, Lash Legend and Nia Jax blindside Green and Stratton from behind, leaving both laid out.

Damian Priest, R‑Truth & The Viking Raiders — Backstage
Cathy intercepts Damian Priest and asks him about everything that went down earlier. Priest says the history between them and the MFTs speaks for itself — every time the fight gets ugly, they handle business, and they’ll kick their asses again.
Erik steps in and says it’s cute that Priest is pissed now. Ivar adds that they’re going to be double champions when this is over.
Truth fires back, saying they aren’t scared of anybody.
Priest says next week, they’ll defend the titles against the Raiders and the MFTs.
Priest immediately realizes only their titles are on the line, and he’s not happy about it.
Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes — In‑Ring Confrontation
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring, but he barely gets out the word “Philadel—” before Cody Rhodes’ music hits and Cody storms down the aisle.
Cody steps right in front of Randy and asks if this is really how they’re going to do this, when everyone already knows how it ends. Cody says Randy owes him an explanation.
Randy says he doesn’t owe Cody anything. Cody asked for this. During the Road to WrestleMania, Cody asked for the best version of Randy Orton. Randy calls Cody a cocky, arrogant son of a bitch and says he played Cody’s game. He gave Cody the best version of Randy Orton — and Cody beat him. Randy congratulates him, but says that in that moment, something snapped. The voices came back, louder than ever, telling him to do whatever he had to do to kick Cody in the face as hard as he could.
Randy says he realized the best version of himself wasn’t going to bring home number fifteen. The worst version can — and will.
Randy says he doesn’t care who has the title. What he does know is that it won’t be Cody, because he will make damn sure Cody Rhodes is never WWE Champion again.
Cody looks at Randy and repeats the phrase back to him — the worst version. He asks Randy where the title is right now. Cody says he doesn’t have to turn the other cheek, and he doesn’t have to turn the other eye. He says maybe Randy should think about what happens when he stops being the good guy. Maybe Randy should think about the worst version of Cody Rhodes.
Cody says he doesn’t have to be the hero anymore. He doesn’t have to carry the weight of the title chase. He tells Randy to forget about the championship for a second. Randy calls himself the Legend Killer — but Cody tells him to look around. Cody says Randy is the last legend left.
Cody steps closer and says he has one question for Randy Orton.
Who kills him?
Cody drops the microphone. His music hits as he stares Randy down, leaving the question hanging in the air.
Sami Zayn, Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae — Backstage
We cut backstage where Sami Zayn is standing with Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. Gargano is still laid out on a training table, clearly not in great shape. Sami says the truth is he’s a little jealous of Kevin Owens — not because Kevin gets to wrestle CM Punk for the title, but because Kevin gets to look Punk in the eye and tell him what a fraud he is.
Candice points behind Sami.
CM Punk is standing there.
Punk asks if they’re still doing this — and by “this,” he means Sami crying behind his back. Punk says he knows Sami, and he knows Owens is jealous. He says he doesn’t even know what Johnny is supposed to be in all this, but at least Owens says things to Punk’s face.
Sami fires back and calls Punk a fraud. He says Punk’s days are numbered. Sami says he has a broken bone in his hand, but if he didn’t, he’d break Punk’s face right now.
Punk tells him if he could have done that, he would have. Punk says Sami lost — just like Owens will lose. Punk says he’d give Gargano and LeRae a title match before he ever gives Sami a shot again.
Jade Cargill, B‑Fab & Michin — Backstage
Jade Cargill is backstage with B‑Fab and Michin when Cathy Kelley approaches, but B‑Fab cuts her off immediately. She says they don’t care what Charlotte Flair has to say. She says they’ve already proven Flair is nothing compared to Jade.
Michin says Jade is the greatest athlete of all time — and the only thing missing is the championship.
Jade says this is business as usual. But now, she’s going to put an end to the disrespect.

Nikki Bella — Backstage Message
Nikki Bella says she tried to be supportive of her sister. She made the unselfish choice to bring in Paige, trusting her as a friend. Nikki says Brie deserved better. She came back to fight beside her sister, and Paige failed them again. Nikki says that was the final straw. Because of Paige, her sister is hurt. Nikki says she will make sure Paige feels that pain, and whatever career Paige has left will be pure misery.
Next Week’s Announcements
Next week, Jacy Jayne vs. Tiffany Stratton for the United States Championship. R‑Truth & Damian Priest defend the Tag Team Titles against the War Raiders and the MFTs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Baron Corbin for the United States Championship.
Shinsuke Nakamura — Message to the Tongans
Shinsuke Nakamura appears and addresses the Tongans. He says they think they’ve evolved. They have a new leader, but they also have past enemies. He tells them to remember who he is — the King of Strong Style. Nakamura says he is back, and this time he will not be alone. He says he is starting a war, and he is not a one‑man army. They will show who the warriors are… and who the pawns are.
Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill
Charlotte and Jade step toward each other and exchange words before even touching. They lock up and neither woman budges — a stalemate. They reset, lock up again, and once more neither gives an inch.
Flair breaks the tension with a monkey flip, holding on as they roll all the way to the floor. Jade recovers first and sends Flair into the apron, then rolls her back inside. Jade hits a shoulder tackle and pauses to pose over Flair.
Flair gets up and mocks Jade right back.
Charlotte clips Jade’s knee and follows with a clothesline. She snaps Jade over with a snap mare, then locks in the figure‑four headscissors and rolls Jade through. Jade refuses to break, rolling all the way to the floor with Flair still attached. Jade hot‑shots Flair across the announce table to break free.
Jade sends Flair into the ringside barrier, launching her so hard that Flair spills into the crowd and lands on top of a security guard. Jade chooses to pose again, soaking in the moment.
Jade kicks Flair as they return to the ring, then hits a suplex for a count of two. She pauses again to pose and show off — and Flair makes her pay with a rollup for a two count. Flair lights Jade up with chops, but Jade fires right back with one of her own. Flair hits a boot, but Jade answers with a Boss Man Slam for another close call.
Jade drops into push‑ups, showing off again. She whips Flair into the corner. Flair goes up the turnbuckles, and Jade raises her arm for an uppercut — Flair jumps right into it, and Jade gets another near fall.
Jade clamps on a reverse chinlock. Flair fights out with elbows and slips into a sleeper, but Jade powers out and plants her with a spinebuster for a two count. Jade whips Flair again but misses a splash in the corner. Flair hits a German suplex.
Jade cracks Flair with a forearm, Flair fires back, and they trade shots. Flair chops Jade repeatedly, Jade misses a boot, and Flair hits a clothesline. Flair goes for the walkover clothesline — but Jade blocks it with a bicycle kick for a close call.
Jade whips Flair into the corner, but Flair hits the classic Flair Flip. Jade charges and runs straight into a boot caught in the ropes. Flair follows with a crossbody, but Jade rolls through and nearly steals the pin. Jade shifts into a jackknife cover — Flair bridges out. Jade blasts Flair with a thrust kick and then hits Three Seconds Around the World for a close call.
Jade climbs the ropes. Flair springs up after her, but Jade shoves her down. Flair goes for the handstand‑rana — Jade counters mid‑air with a super sit‑out powerbomb for another count of two.
Flair slaps Jade. Jade slaps back. Jade goes for the bicycle kick, misses, and gets caught in the ropes. Flair grabs the legs, locks in the Figure Four, and bridges into the Figure Eight.
B‑Fab distracts the referee, and Michin yanks Flair off the hold.
B‑Fab and Michin walk up the aisle, waiting for Alexa Bliss — and she arrives with her doll.
The lights go out.
When they come back on… Tatum Paxley is perched on the turnbuckles. She launches with a crossbody onto B‑Fab and Michin.
Back in the ring, Flair and Jade remember the match is still going. Jade tries for a powerbomb, but Flair slips out. Flair hits Sister Abigail, then climbs the ropes and nails Natural Selection from the top for the three count.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
After the match, Tatum Paxley and Alexa Bliss celebrate with Flair.

Baron Corbin became a two‑time United States Champion at SummerSlam Sunday when he ended Trick Williams’ 105‑day reign in his first televised match since returning to WWE. Tonight, Williams gets his rematch and looks to take the title back. Corbin enters with momentum. Williams enters with urgency.
Jade Cargill goes one‑on‑one with Charlotte Flair. Their tension has been rising for weeks and boiled over at SummerSlam Sunday. Cargill’s allies Michin and B‑Fab attacked Flair during the Interim Women’s Championship Ladder Match, sending each other crashing off a ladder in the process. Tonight, Cargill and Flair settle things directly.
SummerSlam Saturday saw Randy Orton return and cost Cody Rhodes the Undisputed WWE Championship with an RKO out of nowhere. Chelsea Green won the Interim Women’s Championship on Sunday by outlasting Cargill, Flair, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton in the Ladder Match. Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, and GUNTHER in a Number One Contenders Match after newly reinstated SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis added him and GUNTHER to the bout. Owens now has a future shot at CM Punk’s title.
Kevin Owens, Chelsea Green, and Randy Orton are all set to appear tonight as the fallout from both nights of SummerSlam continues to unfold.
