AEW Grand Slam Mexico Results – August 5, 2026 – It’s AEW Grand Slam Mexico City with a trio of trios matches, uno 8-man tag and “Speedball” Mike Bailey takes his shot at Kyle Fletcher for the International title. Mexican wrestling fans are the absolute best, so as they say down the road in AAA, Esto es lucha! Results are courtesy of Jeff Moss.

Cage & Cope & the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. the Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, PAC & Daniel Garcia w/Marina Shafir)

Cope came out to a HUGE ovation wearing a luchadore mask. I’m not kidding, this reaction rivalled his Royal Rumble return. It was LOUD. The Mexican crowd went a capella and sang every word of his theme after it had stopped playing. Cage, The Bucks and the Death Riders all came out with their usual flair, but nothing like that reception for Cope.

The questions of Co-Existence between the Bucks and AEW Tag Champs Cope & Cage came fast and early as the two teams will meet at All In in a couple of weeks. Science says they will co-exist. Wrestling thinks otherwise…

Cage and Pac kicked things off, tying up until Pac sent Cage into the ropes and Yuta kicked him. That started a brawl and the Bucks and Cage triple teamed Pac after the rest of the Riders were dispatched. Cage (who I remind you is in his 50’s) even took a leap from the top rope to take out the field on the outside.

Back from a break, Moxley had Nick in the corner. The Death riders cleared the opposite corner then ran an uppercut train on Nick. Garcia put him in a Dragonslayer until Matt got in there and broke it up. He double arm dragged Yuta and Garcia, but seemd confused about where his corner was, due to recent head trauma. When he found it, he tagged in Cope.

Moxley and Pac tried to get him, but Cope nailed them with a double clothesline. Moxley came back with a cutter, but Cope reversed the momentum and sent him through the ropes where Cage drover some knees into Moxley’s back. Cage went up top and nailed a diving headbutt, followed by an elbow from Matt.

The Riders were taken care of, leaving Moxley at the mercy of a 4-on-1 beat down. The Bucks dove over the ropes and tooke out Garcia and Pac. In the ring, Cope landed an impaler on Moxley and the crowd called for a spear. Shafir got up on the apron though, grabbing his hair. Cage pulled her down and they exchanged punches.

Yuta snuck in a high knee on Cope and then Yuta hit another on Cage. The Bucks answered with superkicks and a Sliced Bread. Pac suplexed Matt, but Cope hit him with a slam. Moxley came in and Cope levelled him with a spear, setting off the crowd. The ref was distracted by Yuta though, so no count was made.

Pac sent Cope off the ropes, which knocked Matt off the apron. In the confusion, Moxley rolled up Cope and stole the match for the Death Riders.

Match Result: Death Riders defeated Cage & Cope & the Young Bucks

After the match, Cage, Cope and the Young Bucks talked things through, shook hands but looked uneasy at the prospect of co-existing any further.

All In Casino Gauntlet #1 Position Match: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Andrade El Ídolo vs. Komander

As you may have surmised, the winner of this match gets the #1 position in the All In Casino Gauntlet Match. I was at Redemption last month and Andrade’s match was easily the best of the night, on a card that was full of great matches. So he’s my pick to walk away with this, but Komander is a close second. That would make Ciampa third, if you’re counting at home.

Ciampa, the lone American, was heavily booed to start the match, especially when he started beating up Komander. Andrade let him do it for a moment then got involved with some hard right hand shots. He set Ciampa up in the corner, but on the charge, Komander leapt off the top rope to cut him off.

Ciampa and Andrade started fighting on the outside and Komander walked the the tope rope and landed on both of them. Andrade got up top and hit a tornado splash onto Komander on the outside. Then he took a moment and posed for a selfie.

Back from break, Ciampa and Andrade were laid out, but got to their feet and traded blows with Andrade sending him to the outside. Then, the pants. came. down! Komander tried to take advantage, but Andrade met him with a Three Amigos.

Andrade went up top, but Ciampa took his leg out. Komander tried to get back into it, but Ciampa sent him out too. Then he assaulted Andrade’s pants. That’s a real sentence I just wrote. Ciampa went to make a cover on the pants (again, actually happened) but Komander broke it up and Ciampa took him out with a lungblower.

Ciampa went up top, but Andrade met him there and they battled on the turnbuckle. Komander flew in out of nowhere and took Andrade down with a headscissor. Ciampa started complaining to the ref about counts, which left him open to take some knees from Andrade. Andrade went for the cover, but Komander broke it up.

Andrade took ouy Ciampa and the Komander poisonrana’d him. Komander went for his springboard moonsault, but Andrade was there and planted him with a twisting DDT for the win.

Match Result: Andrade El Ídolo defeated Tommaso Ciampa and Komander

After the match, Andrade grabbed a mic and said even though he is the National Champion, he wants more. He promised to win the Casino Guantlet Match and the World Title for all of Mexico. How You Know?

Then, the unmistakable music of MJF hit and MJF snuck in behind Andrade from the crowd and attacked him with an Triple B AEW title belt. MJF took back his Diamond Ring from Andrade and then punched him with it, standing tall and soaking up the crowd’s loathing.

MJF continued the assault, throwing Andrade from the ring to the floor. MJF then grabbed a mic, called Andrade trash, Mexico a “piece of sh*t country” and then demanded they cheer him for being an American Hero. MJF then claimed that he is “your champion” and said that at beach break, Kenny Omega was about to go down until Will Osprey got involved.

He called Omega’s title a “toy belt” and screamed that the All In main event was his. MJF then said he always gets what he wants and next week on Dynamite in Vegas, there is a qualifying match for the #2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet. MJF said that he is going to enter and win that match so he can win the Casino Gauntlet and take his title back.

MJF said that the Triple B is the only championships that should be recognized. He then claimed to be the one true champion and dropped the mic.

Willow Nightingale & the Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter) vs. Mercedes Moné and Divine Dominion (Lena Kross & Megan Bayne)

Willow and Mone will meet in London to do battle over Willow’s AEW Women’s World Championship, so this, the first of our trio of trios matches, will be a warm up for both.

Willow called for Mone to start the match against her, but Mone had none of it. Windsor and Bayne locked up instead with Bayne throwing some hard strikes and sending her to the corner. Windsor dodged a charge and tagged in Hayter. They double teamed Bayne and Willow tagged in for a senton.

All six women locked up like a rugby scrum and tried to execute triple suplexes, but it didn’t work. Bayne and Kross were sent to the floor where Windsor and Hayter dove onto them.

Back from break, the battle raged with Mone and Willow on the outside and the two tag teams squaring off. The Birds and the Dominion went back and forth with strikes until the Dominion hit the Birds with a double German suplex. Willow and Mone tagged in and went right to punching.

Mone went for a high knee, but Willow caught her and planted her with a slam for a two count. Mone hit a meteora from the second rope, and Windsor hit her with a head butt. Bayne then lariated Windsor and falcon arrowed Hayter until Willow hit her with a Death Valley Driver.

Willow set Mone up on the turnbuckle but Money shoved her off. Willow came back with a clothesline and went for a powerbomb, but the Dominion got in her way. The Birds took them out and Willow went for another powerbomb, but Mone countered it into the beginnings of a Money Maker before Willow turned it into a backslide and pinned Mone for the win.

Match Result: Willow Nightingale & the Brawling Birds defeated Mercedes Moné & Divine Dominion

After the match, it was made official via screen graphic that the Brawling Birds will take on Divine Dominion for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles at All In.

AEW International Championship Match: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey

As I mentioned earlier, I was in the stands at Redemption when Bailey won an incredible ladder match to earn this title shot against Fletcher. I was also there to see Fletcher take on Bandido in what was an outstanding match. So really, I had a good time that night.

Fletcher and Bailey came to the ring in masks, but once the match started they were bare faced as usual. The opening was as fast as you’d expect with Fletcher going for strikes and Baily using his agility to avoid them. Baily went off the top rope to try and get Fletcher on the outside, but Fletcher caught him in mid air and as they say, lawn-darted him into the barricade.

Back in the ring, Fletcher went for a Powerbomb, but Bailey countered into a backslide. Fletcher slipped out of the ring and Bailey leapt onto him through the ropes. Bailey then went up top, but Fletcher charged, so Bailey leapt over him and threw some kicks. He followed that with a running Shooting Star Press, but only got a two count.

Bailey then tried a suplex from the rope rope, but Fletcher countered it into an avalanche Michinoku driver. Bailey rolled to the outside while Fletcher strutted in the ring.

Back from break, Bailey was chopping Fletcher in the ring, but making little progress. Fletcher then chopped him all the way to the outside. Fletcher went for a dive, but Bailey leapt up and used the rope to land a moonsault onto Fletcher. Bailey scrambled back into the ring and made a quick cover, but Fletcher reversed it.

Bailey hit a spinning headscissor and went for a DDT, but changed his mind into a pin to get 2.5 on Fletcher. Fletcher dodged a kick and nailed Bailey with a really nasty half and half suplex before kicking Bailey in the face, sending him up the elevated entrance ramp.

Fletcher then tried to suplex Bailey on the set steps, but Bailey countered it into a headscissor a scrambled up the steps, using the height to land a moonsault. The both crawled back to the ring where Bailey went up top, but Fletcher avoided the move. Bailey sent Fletcher to the corner, but Fletcher came right back out for another Michinoku Driver for a 2.75 count.

Fletcher went for the powerbomb again, but Bailey blocked it and they moved out onto the floor where Fletcher (still holding Bailey) powerbombed him on the ring apron. Fletcher threw Bailey back into the ring for a cover, but somehow Bailey kicked out at two.

Fletcher put Bailey up on the turnbuckle and went for a brainbuster, but Bailey countered with kicks and a super hurricanrana. Bailey ran back up and hit a moonsault, connecting with the knees and quickly covered Fletcher. The crowd was so loud I actually missed the count, but somehow Fletcher kicked out at 2.99999.

Bailey went for a kick, but Fletcher caught him and lawn darted him into the second turnbuckle. Then he put Bailey up for a turnbuckle brainbuster that absolutely crushed Bailey. Fletcher made the cover and got the win to retain his title.

Match Result: Kyle Fletcher defeataed “Speedball” Mike Bailey

Fletcher was still in the ring as Okada started making his entrance for the next match featuring the Don Callis Family. Fletcher and Okada stared each other down as they passed on the entrance ramp.

Místico, Jericho, & Darby Allin vs. The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Kevin Knight, & Hechicero)

This truly is a star-studded match. Hechicero is the current CMLL World Heavyweight Champion, Kevin Knight is the AEW TNT Champion and Okada can control the weather, seemingly at will. Mistico is one of the best luchadores in the game (with one of the best theme songs in the game) and is one half of the ROH Tag Champions and CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion. Darby Allin is apparently unkillable and clinically insane and Jericho (who came out as Curazo De Leon, AKA Lion Heart) is somehow still doing this at a very high level at 278 years of age. He was also wrestling in shorts. Quite the collection of wrestlers.

Allin skated down the entrance ramp, right into a clothesline from Knight. The bell rang but no one cared as the brawl was on. Knight threw Allin onto the barricade crotch-first while in the ring, Hechicero battled Mistico while Jericho and Okada paired off. Jericho gave him a taste of the Painmaker with a some chops, but Okada came back with a dropkick.

Knight taggedin and he and Jericho traded shots and kicks in the middle of the ring. Knight leapt up but Jericho caught him for what legally speaking was definitely not an AA. He then tagged in Allin who squared off against Hechicero. Allin dropkicked him and then dove through the ropes to try and take out Knight, but Okada caught him with a kick as he sailed through the ropes.

Back from break, Allin and Knight were running into each other, leaving both on the mat. Allin got a tag to Mistico who hit Knight with a crossbody. That brought in Okada and Hechicero for a triple team. Mistico managed to get a hiurricanrana on Knight, then take out Okada and Hecichero.

Okada came back and Misitico threw him at Jericho who nailed him with a high knee. Allin tagged in and he and Knight thew punches until Allin rolle dup Knight for a Sharp– Scorpion death Lock. Okada went to help, but Jericho grabbed him on the way. Hechicero came in and grabbed Mistico, but Mistico was able to counter it and send him out of the ring.

From the turnbuckles, Allin hit a coffin drop on Knight, Jericho dove on Okada and Mistico leapt over onto Hechicero. Allin went back up, but Knight pulled him down into the dreaded tree of woe. Knight went up top and went coast to coast, but Jericho stepped into the dropkick to stop him. Okada came in and Jericho put him in the Walls of Jericho. Misitco grabbed Hechicero in an arm lock and amongst all the chaos someone pinned someone and Jericho, Mistico and Allin won. There was no replay, but that was the outcome.

CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone vs. Kris Statlander

Persephone has been a blue chipper since she started, appearing in ROH as well as AEW and CMLL. Statlander is a former AEW Women’s Champion so the pedigrees matched up. Speaking of, CMLL National Champion Thunder Rosa was show in the crowd.

They locked up in a feeling out process, trading waistlocks and dodging run throughs. Persephone matrix-dodged some strikes and Statlander walked on her hands in a handstand at one point.

Stalander took control and clotheslined Persephone out of the ring. She hit a flip kick on her from the ring apron and then threw her back into the ring for an attempted leg drop, but Persephone dodged it a threw a dropkick, sending Statlander out so Persephone could flip over the top rope onto her.

Persephone took a moment to talk trash to Thunder Rosa and then threw Statlander into the ring. Persephone put her in a head lock and we headed to a commercial break.

When it was done, Persephone had Statlander in an arm lock, but Statlander powered out. Persephone went for a spingboard moonsault, but Statlander dodged it and hit a gutwrench suplex. Statlander threw some elbows in the corner and then landed a blue thunder bomb, which got the legally required two count.

Persephone came back with a Razor’s Edge attempt, but Statlander countered and they wrestled around the ring. They got to their feet and Persephone decked Statlander with a flying clothesline. They traded open handed strikes until Persephone came back with a thrust kick.

Statlander splashed her and then went up top for a 450 but Persephone moved out of the way and speared her for a two count. Persephone left the ring and tried to steal Thunder Rosa’s title belt. Rosa jumped the barricade and Persephone decked her with it. That let Statlander dive into both of them, but she knocked out the ref too.

She threw Persephone in to the ring and pinned her, but instead of a ref rolling in, Hikaru Shida did and took out Statlander for Persephone. Persephone put the point on it with a frog splash and made the cover as another ref ran in and made the count to give the win to Persephone.

Match Result: Persephone defeated Kris Statlander

After the match, Persephone posed with Thunder Rosa’s title belt, then threw it down in the ring as Maya World and Hyan ran down to check on Statlander.

AEW World Trios Championship Match: The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, & Toa Liona) (c) vs. “Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido (Bandido & Brody King)

Page, Bandido and King came down to the ring in full Mariachi outfits with band accompaniment. The Demand came to the ring looking like a cult and/or one of the houses from Hogwarts.

The match started with a brawl and when it settled down Page was laying out Liona. King grabbed a blind tag and the big men started fighting. Kaun came in for a double team and King took them both down. Ricichet tried to helo and Brody went three for three, tossing him onto Kaun and Liona.

Page and King then lifted Bandido up so he could use the top rope to spingboard dive into the Demand. Then, they danced.

The Demand put an end to that, jumping all three from behind. Bandido and Kaun fought in the ring with Kaun lifting and dropping Bandido over the top turnbuckle, backbreaker style.

One minute and fifty-nine seconds later, Bandido was fighting Kaun in the ring, who countered a charge from Bandido into a slam. Ricochet tagged in and bounced Bandido’s head off the turnbuckle, he flew in for a splash, but Bandido met him with a dropkick, knocking him out of the air.

Bandido got a tag to Page who fought off Kaun and Liona to take on Ricochet. Ricochet went for a kick, but Page dodged it and threw him into the corner. Ricochet tried a high move, but Page caught him and dropped him with a Liger Bomb. Bandido and King were getting thrown into barricades on the outside.

Hangman took too long to get a buckshot lariat in and Ricochet knocked him off the apron with a dropkick. The Demand then did a three way dive over the top to take out the field. Ricochet threw Page back into the ring for an extended 3-on-1 beatdown, but Page kicked out of everything they threw at him.

King pulled Ricochet out of the ring by the neck and then stacked up Liona and Kaun in the corner for a King Cannonball on both. Ricochet got King out of the way, but left himself open for a discus elbow from Page. Page tagged in Bandido who went for a 21-plex on Ricochet, but Liona grabbed a blind tag. Bandido didn’t see it so he went up top and Liona sent Page into the corner.

King had had enough and started throwing bombs at everyone. Liona then stacked King, Bandido and Page all on his shoulders and back body dropped them. I’m serious, I saw it.

Liona went for a cover on Bandido, but could only get a two. Bandido came back and sent Ricochet and Kaun to the floor before moving and letting Liona run into the ring post. He then tried a 21-plex on Liona, but Liona held the ropes. Page popped up and kicked him so he let go. Page then assisted Bandido in finishing the Plex with a buckshot lariat and 1-2-3, Page and Brodido are the new Trios Champions.

Match Result: “Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido defeated The Demand

At this point, it was 10:29 pm EST and my naive mind wondered “how are they going to get the last match in before the show ends at 10:30?” The answer is, they didn’t! The next match started after a quick commercial break.

Mexico City Street Fight: Mark Davis vs. Will Ospreay

No count outs, no, DQ’s, anything goes. It’s a Mexican Street Fight. Will Ospreay is a GOAT contender and Davis looks like he’s part goat, so this will be a hard hitting affair.

Davis and Ospreay met on the ramp and Davis clotheslined him over the top rope. Davis then literally pucked up Ospreay and threw him at the mat before sentoning him. The fight moved to the outside where Ospreay bounced Davis’ head off the barricades and then pulled out a tire? Yeah, a tire.

He went to hit Davis with it, but Davis saw it coming (because it’s a tire, its huge) and countered it, lifting Ospreay over the barricade and sending him into the audience. Ospreay ran back and used the barricade to leap back into the ringside area onto Davis.

Ospreay got a two count off of Davis before Davis slid out and grabbed a chair. He hit Ospreay once with it, but then Ospreay came back with a spin kick into the chair, bouncing it into Davis’ face. Davis came back and powerbombed Ospreay onto the ring apron.

Davis grabbed a (plastic?) garbage can the threw it at Ospreay. He then powerbombed him over the barricade and onto a “fan.” Davis was piling chairs and other weaopons in the ring while Ospreay recovered and the fan contacted his lawyer. That took us into the night’s final commercial break.

On the back of that, Davis had Ospreay up the entrance stairs. Davis hit him with either a ceiling tile or a piece of drywall, sending Ospreay tumbling down the stairs. Davis ran him back to the ring and tossed him over the top rope. He went out and grabbed what looked like a sixth chair and got back in the ring. One of the chairs appeared to have barbed wire wrapped around it.

Ospreay caught Davis with a kick and tried to get him on his shoulders, but Davis ran his face into a chair wedged in the ropes. Ospreay started to bleed pretty badly from under the hair line as Davis choked him with the ropes. Davis set up a bunch of chairs and then rapped Ospreay over the back with one.

Davis sat Ospreay down in a chair and raked his forehead with a steel fork. He then went off the ropes for some reason and Ospreay drop toed him onto one of the chairs. Ospreay took his turn with the fork, stabbing and raking Davis’ head. Ospreay, in fill crimson mask, lined up Davis, but Davis clotheslined him before he could do anything. He then spike DDT’d Ospreay through two set up chairs. Somehow, Ospreay kicked out of the cover.

Davis pulled the barbed wire off the chair and used it on Ospreay’s head, literally spraying blood all over. Ospreay chucked a chair at him and went for a tiger driver, but Davis countered with a head butt. He then tried to Piledrive Ospreay on the apron, but Ospreay blocked it. Davis grabbed the barbed wire and raked it down Ospreays back, cutting him open.

Ospreay then grabbed Davis’ junk, squeezed and set him up for a pileddriver, spiking Davis’ head on the ring apron. Davis answered the 10 count at nine and Ospreay grabbed him in the ring. Davis back body dropped, and then spiked Ospreay with a sit down pile driver, but somehow could only get the two.

Davis went for the barbed wire again, but Ospreay hit him with a Styles Clash for a two count. Ospreay rained down elbow strikes and then wrapped the barbed wire around Davis’ neck before delivering a Hidden Blade, which put Davis down for good, mercifully ending the bloody battle in Ospreay’s favor.
