MJF made his AEW return in dramatic fashion at Grand Slam Mexico, interrupting Andrade El Idolo’s post‑match celebration and immediately inserting himself back into the AEW World Championship conversation.
The attack came moments after Andrade secured the No. 1 entry position in the Casino Gauntlet match at AEW All In: London, defeating Tommaso Ciampa and Komander in his first Arena Mexico appearance in nearly three years.
MJF Grand Slam Mexico Return
After addressing the crowd in both Spanish and English, Andrade spoke about his goal of winning the Gauntlet and eventually becoming AEW World Champion. His celebration ended abruptly when MJF stormed the ring from behind, carrying the Triple B championship belt. The former AEW World Champion blindsided Andrade, ripped the Dynamite Diamond Ring off his finger and blasted him with it before dragging him to ringside.
MJF berated Andrade while officials rushed in, accusing “El Idolo” of taking what belonged to him. He then hurled Andrade into the barricade, leaving him bloodied as the Arena Mexico crowd reacted in shock. With Andrade down, MJF demanded someone remove “that piece of trash” from “his building” before turning his attention to the audience.
He addressed his AEW World Championship loss at Beach Break, claiming Kenny Omega only won because of Will Ospreay’s involvement. MJF then announced he will compete in a Casino Gauntlet qualifying match next week on Dynamite in Las Vegas, vowing to earn his way back into the title picture and reclaim the championship he insists is still his.
Holding the Triple B high above his head, MJF exited through the crowd while jawing with fans, leaving officials tending to Andrade as Grand Slam Mexico continued.
New Trios Champions Crowned
The co‑main event of AEW Grand Slam Mexico produced a major title change, as Hangman Page, Bandido and Brody King captured the AEW World Trios Championships. The trio defeated The Demand — Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun — in front of a packed Arena Mexico crowd.
The Demand controlled portions of the match, including a dominant stretch where Toa Liona powered all three challengers across the ring before dropping them with a massive Samoan drop. Despite the onslaught, the challengers rallied. Brody King wiped out Saints, and Hangman Page drilled Liona with a Buckshot Lariat to create an opening.
Bandido capitalized, finally connecting with the 21‑Plex on Liona to secure the three‑count and clinch the titles. The new champions celebrated by performing the Macarena together, joined by Kemalito as the crowd erupted in approval.
The victory marks a new chapter for the Trios division, with Page, Bandido and King now holding the gold heading into AEW’s summer slate.
