Lexis King offered a quiet tribute to AEW’s Rebel during the August 11 episode of WWE NXT. King faced Lucien Price at the WWE Performance Center, and during his entrance with Birthright, he held up a wristband honoring Rebel before keeping it on throughout the match.
The wristband’s full message wasn’t fully visible, but the word “Rebel” and a heart symbol could be clearly seen. After a fan highlighted the gesture online, King responded with a message of encouragement, writing, “Thank you for catching this, we love you Rebel.”
Rebel is currently battling terminal ALS, and support for her has grown across the wrestling world. Many wrestlers have taken part in the revived ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to show solidarity.
AEW and QT Marshall’s 1FW are also preparing a tribute next month. A special “Rebel Heart” episode of AEW Dynamite is scheduled for September.
