AEW has finalized both the rules and the opening‑round matchups for the first‑ever Continental Cup. The full draw was revealed during the “Selection Special” hosted by Tony Schiavone and AEW President Tony Khan on the company’s YouTube channel, officially setting the stage for a tournament built around strict guidelines and high stakes.
The Continental Cup will follow the same no‑interference policy used in the Continental Classic. However, one major change separates the two tournaments: there will be no time limits in any match. Every bout must end with a decisive winner, adding pressure to all 16 competitors who were entered into a blind draw for the first round.

The tournament begins on the August 8 episode of Collision in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Orange Cassidy will open the Continental Cup by facing Matt Sydal. The same broadcast will feature Claudio Castagnoli of the Death Riders taking on Ace Austin of the Bang Bang Gang. The final match of the night pits Jake Doyle of the Don Callis Family against former Continental Champion Eddie Kingston.
The first round continues on the August 12 episode of AEW Dynamite in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jay White will meet David Finlay as the rivalry between the Bang Bang Gang and The Dogs carries into the tournament. Jon Moxley, who is putting his AEW Continental Championship on the line throughout the event, begins his run against “Jungle” Jack Perry.
The remaining three first‑round matches will also take place in Las Vegas, this time on the August 15 episode of Collision. Hechicero and Brian Cage will battle in an all Don Callis Family matchup. Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly will collide in an all Conglomeration affair. The final bout of the round features Nigel McGuinness going one‑on‑one with Katsuyori Shibata.
