AEW has officially confirmed the third match between World Champion MJF and Kenny Omega, and it will take place on next Wednesday’s Beach Break edition of Dynamite. This latest chapter in their rivalry comes with a major condition that raises the stakes significantly.
If Kenny Omega fails to defeat MJF, he will no longer be allowed to challenge for the AEW World Championship.
The stipulation was introduced during the July 1 episode of Dynamite. MJF made the offer shortly after retaining his title against Mark Briscoe. Omega did not respond immediately and instead waited until the closing moments of the show to give his answer.

After taking the full length of the broadcast to consider the terms, Omega accepted the challenge. Moments after agreeing, he was attacked from behind by MJF. The show ended with both men involved in a pull-apart brawl, setting the tone for their upcoming title match.
This will mark the third meeting between the two. Their first encounter took place on an October 2023 episode of Collision, where MJF retained the title on short notice. They met again at the Dynasty pay-per-view in April, with MJF once again successfully defending the championship.
During the broadcast, it was also highlighted that MJF has a strong record in matches with similar stipulations. He previously defeated Cody Rhodes and Hangman Page under conditions that prevented future title challenges. Page has not appeared since losing to MJF in a Texas Death Match at the Revolution event in March.
Leading into the announcement, several AEW stars attempted to influence Omega’s decision. The Young Bucks and Will Ospreay both advised him against accepting the match, but Omega chose to move forward regardless.
Earlier in the show, in a backstage segment that followed up on events from Forbidden Door, Omega questioned Ospreay’s connection to the Death Riders. He also made it clear that he intended to pursue the AEW World Championship if MJF retained against Briscoe.
Now, with the stipulation in place, Omega enters the match with his future title opportunities on the line, while MJF looks to extend his winning streak against him.
