WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles has thrown his support behind LA Knight, saying the SmackDown star deserves a run with a world championship. Knight has remained one of WWE’s most consistently popular names since his breakout rise in 2023, but that momentum has yet to translate into a world title victory.
Over the last three years, Knight has held the United States Championship and challenged for world titles several times. Each attempt ended in defeat, yet his fan support has stayed strong. Now, AJ Styles has publicly joined the voices calling for Knight to finally reach the top.
Speaking on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, Styles praised Knight’s work and said he believes Knight has earned the chance to become a world champion. Styles highlighted Knight’s promo ability and presence, noting that he has everything needed to carry a major title. He also pointed out that several top stars are reaching a point in their careers where time becomes a factor, and WWE should capitalize on opportunities while they are still available.
Styles added that he wants to see new names rise into the world title picture, and Knight is one of the talents he believes is ready for that spotlight.
“I do hope he gets to be a world champion. I really think he has earned it. His mic work is pretty freaking awesome, so I’d like to see – He’s a guy that can hold a heavyweight championship, no problem. He’s got the mouth to back it up. I’d like to see it happen.”
“The reality is we’ve got a lot of guys who are getting to that point where time’s coming and it waits for no one. So if we’re going to do something, let’s do it. Let’s get it done. I’d like to see some heavyweight champions that we haven’t seen before.”
For now, Knight remains locked in his ongoing issues with The Bloodline. Fans continue to speculate about where the storyline is heading, with many wondering if a future showdown with Roman Reigns could eventually lead to another world title opportunity. Whether that path finally results in championship gold remains to be seen.
