During the May 25 edition of WWE RAW, a new stipulation was added to the Tribal Combat match between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu for Clash in Italy.
The segment opened with Reigns and WWE official Adam Pearce discussing the contract signing for their upcoming showdown. While Reigns had already accepted the Tribal Combat match, he pushed for an additional condition: if Fatu loses at Clash in Italy, he would be required to “serve” Reigns.
Later in the main event segment, Fatu entered the arena and immediately began clearing the ring area of tables and chairs before coming face-to-face with Reigns. Security officials attempted to separate both men as tensions escalated, but Reigns dismissed them, insisting that once the contract was signed, Fatu would have no choice but to accept his fate.
Reigns reinforced the stipulation, stating that Fatu would eventually learn to “love the Tribal Chief.” Fatu ultimately agreed to the terms, acknowledging Reigns’ influence while making it clear he is prepared for the consequences. He added that if he cannot defeat Reigns, at least he would still have a job—but if he wins, everyone, including Reigns, will be forced to acknowledge him.
This new stipulation adds another layer to an already heated rivalry. At Backlash, Reigns defeated Fatu to retain the World Heavyweight Championship, but Fatu attacked him after the match and continued his assault in the following weeks. Despite Reigns and his allies briefly gaining the upper hand last week, Fatu responded by issuing the Tribal Combat challenge that set the stage for Clash in Italy.
