Mick Foley made his AEW debut during the Double or Nothing 2026 Zero Hour pre-show, where Foley appeared alongside Renee Paquette as a co-host. Shortly after, Tony Khan took to X, stating that the multi-time world champion had joined the company.
After making his entrance, Foley addressed the crowd and reflected on what the moment meant to him. He described being part of Double or Nothing as one of the biggest nights of his life, crediting AEW for reigniting his passion for professional wrestling. He also spoke highly of Khan, calling him a friend and expressing gratitude for being welcomed into the company.
Later in the pre-show, the segment took a turn when MJF stormed to the ring without music, shouting as Paquette exited, leaving him face-to-face with Foley. MJF mocked the crowd and shifted his focus to Darby Allin, comparing him to Foley and labeling both as underdogs who fall short when it matters most.
Foley responded by embracing his legacy and addressing MJF directly. “For a moment, let me take this in, I never thought I’d have a feeling like this again in my life, so thanks MJF for giving that gift to me. Yes, I lost a lot of matches… none of those matches did those happen in 2 minutes or less, that’s not a loss, it’s a disgrace.” He then challenged MJF to step up, adding that Allin was prepared not only to retain the AEW World Title but also to humiliate him. “He’s willing to retain the AEW Title and take your hair. You’ve got wavy hair, and tonight, you’ll wave it goodbye.”
The confrontation escalated when MJF delivered a low blow to Foley before attempting to flee. Allin quickly ran to the ring, forcing MJF to retreat. Foley, regaining control, continued his passionate speech and revealed he had only recently learned that he had inspired Allin’s career. He recalled watching Allin face Jon Moxley years ago and recognizing his potential.
Foley closed with a message aimed at Allin and fans alike, praising those who were never expected to succeed. “Like myself, you were the weird kid never picked for stardom… go out there and win one for the weird ones and show that you can be a legend. If I can quote an old friend of mine… Bang Bang Darby Allin Bang Bang!”
The segment added emotional weight to the main event buildup, while also marking a notable new chapter for Foley inside AEW.
