Renee Paquette has shared her thoughts on the idea of appearing in an on-screen storyline alongside her husband, Jon Moxley, particularly as part of the Death Riders faction.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Renee acknowledged that the topic has followed her for years, dating back to when fans first learned about her real-life relationship with Moxley. “I have not really seen much of that, but I mean that’s always been something that’s sort of bubbled up. I think as soon as people realize that Jon and I were together many, many, many moons ago. There’s always been sort of that, ‘Oh, what if something happened? What if we did something?’”
While she understands the appeal, Paquette made it clear that she is satisfied with her current role in All Elite Wrestling. She admitted the idea has crossed her mind, especially given her respect for the group. “I get the lure of that and there’s of course part of me that’s like, ‘Oh, that would be fun to do something with the Death Riders,’ and I love everybody that’s a part of that crew. It is such a strong, badass crew of these legendary people. But I also like where I’m at and I don’t feel like—and not that you don’t want to grow and you want to do other things—but also I’m pretty happy with what I’m doing.”
Rather than stepping into a storyline role, Paquette emphasized her commitment to improving as a broadcaster. “And I think if I want to grow in something else, it’s growing on the broadcast side of things. And I’m always kind of focusing on honing my craft and finding other ways that I can contribute and help with stuff.”
She also pointed out the potential downside of becoming part of an on-screen faction, noting how quickly audience perception can change. “And I think should I ever get involved in something like that, I think that could be a slippery slope with fans being like, ‘Maybe I don’t like this. Yeah, I don’t like her.’ Who knows? Fans can be a little bit fickle sometimes.”
For now, Paquette remains focused on her broadcasting duties, keeping her role separate from Moxley’s on-screen persona. While she did not completely rule out a future appearance, she appears content staying in her current lane within AEW programming.
