Demolition Set for WWE Hall of Fame 2026

Demolition Set for WWE Hall of Fame

One of the most iconic tag teams in professional wrestling history is finally set to take its place among the legends of the industry. It was confirmed today that Demolition, consisting of Bill Eadie and Barry Darsow, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas. They join a prestigious 2026 class that already includes AJ Styles and Stephanie McMahon. Consistent with the other honorees this year, the duo learned of their induction through a surprise announcement delivered by The Undertaker.

Known to fans as Ax and Smash, the team dominated the tag team division as three-time champions during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their inaugural title reign lasted 478 days, a massive achievement that stood as the longest in company history for decades until it was eventually surpassed by The New Day in 2016.

The road to this induction has been long and complicated by legal friction. For years, a Hall of Fame nod seemed unlikely because the team and the promotion were on poor terms. Eadie had previously filed a lawsuit in the 1990s regarding the ownership rights of the Demolition gimmick. Furthermore, both Eadie and Darsow were involved in a class-action concussion lawsuit against the organization.

However, the tide began to turn in 2025 when Demolition signed Legends contracts with the company. Under the current leadership of Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Nick Khan, the relationship has significantly improved, allowing both parties to move forward.

While the specific date and venue for the 2026 ceremony have not yet been finalized, the event is traditionally held on the Friday evening of WrestleMania week. This induction marks a long-awaited moment for fans of the golden era who have campaigned for the team’s inclusion for years.
