After delivering his retirement speech in his home state of Georgia, Styles placed his jacket and gloves in the center of the ring at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, signaling the official end of his in-ring career. Moments later, the arena lights went out and The Undertaker arrived on his motorcycle. Standing across from Styles, he revealed that the “Phenomenal One” would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
According to Bryan Alvarez, the Hall of Fame announcement was a legitimate surprise. WWE management reportedly chose not to inform Styles ahead of time, allowing the segment to unfold naturally. As a result, his reaction inside the ring was said to be genuine while the Atlanta crowd responded with a loud ovation.
The surprise capped off an already emotional night. Styles had just reflected on his nearly 30-year career and thanked his family and the fans for their support. The unexpected appearance by The Undertaker added a historic layer to the tribute, turning a retirement ceremony into a Hall of Fame moment.
Styles now joins Stephanie McMahon as the only confirmed members of the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame class. Notably, both inductions were announced by The Undertaker. McMahon’s Hall of Fame news was delivered during the Wrestlepalooza event in September 2025.
While WWE has not officially confirmed full details for the 2026 ceremony, it is widely expected that the Hall of Fame event will take place in Las Vegas during WrestleMania 42 weekend.
