The IInspiration Linked To AEW Following TNA Departure – TNA Wrestling launched a new era on January 15 with TNA Impact debuting on AMC, but the night also marked a major shift in the Knockouts tag division. The IInspiration dropped the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles to The Elegance Brand, and reports quickly surfaced that Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee were finishing up their time with the company after working short-term deals throughout 2025.
New details have added to the speculation about what comes next. Dave Meltzer reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there has been significant talk about The IInspiration potentially joining AEW. The discussion comes as Tony Khan continues reshaping the roster in 2026, bringing in several new names across the men’s and women’s divisions.
Among the talents connected to AEW this year are Tommaso Ciampa, The Rascalz, Jake Something (now Jake Doyle), Jordan Oliver, Alec Price, Zayda Steel, and Andrade El Idolo, all of whom have signed full-time deals. Mascara Dorada and Persephone are also said to hold dual contracts with AEW and CMLL, while NJPW’s Clark Connors is widely expected to be confirmed as another addition soon.
If McKay and Lee were to sign, they would arrive with strong credentials. The duo previously held both the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, winning the latter at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. Their experience and established chemistry would immediately give AEW another recognized team in a division that continues to evolve.
Despite the speculation, Meltzer noted that he is unsure whether the pairing would be an ideal fit, pointing out that AEW’s roster is already crowded. Their future remains uncertain, but timing could play a role in any potential move. AEW is preparing to travel to Australia for the Grand Slam Australia event on Valentine’s Day, a location tied closely to McKay and Lee that could serve as a natural stage if an agreement were reached.
For now, their status remains unresolved, but industry discussion about a possible AEW arrival continues to build.
