Las Vegas Venues Could Be Blocked From Airing WrestleMania 42

Las Vegas Venues Could Be Blocked From Airing WrestleMania 42 – Establishments across Las Vegas may not be able to air WrestleMania 42 this year, leaving local fans and tourists searching for other ways to watch the event. A report from Fightful states that the distributor handling WrestleMania broadcasts has informed multiple venues that they will not be permitted to show the Premium Live Event, even if they are willing to pay the usual licensing fee.

The restriction is said to stem from a new policy affecting locations within a 50-mile radius of the host stadium. The idea behind the move is to push more fans toward attending WrestleMania in person instead of viewing it at nearby bars and restaurants. While some smaller businesses could attempt to work around the rule, the blackout is expected to hurt revenue, particularly for venues that rely heavily on fight-night traffic and crossover audiences who typically watch both WWE and UFC programming. WWE did not comment when contacted about the reported policy.

If enforced, the blackout would impact viewership for one of the most anticipated WrestleMania cards in recent memory. The event returns to Las Vegas for the second straight year after shifting from its originally planned location of New Orleans, and the lineup reflects several creative changes made over recent months.

Night 2 is set to feature Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, a matchup tied to earlier plans built around the company’s top stars. Night 1 is expected to be headlined by Drew McIntyre vs. Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship following McIntyre’s push for a title victory in their “Three Stages of Hell” storyline.

Other major matches are also shaping the card. Seth Rollins is slated to face Bron Breakker after their Royal Rumble-related angle. “The identity of the masked man was supposed to make everyone think it was Rollins,” Meltzer wrote. “Right now the belief is Rollins will be ready for Mania and face Breakker in a singles match.” AJ Lee is reportedly scheduled to return in a bout against Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

With the blackout potentially limiting local screenings, fans in the Las Vegas area may have fewer public viewing options for a show that is already generating significant interest.
