Penelope Ford Injury Update Following AEW Dynamite – As noted, Penelope Ford suffered an injury during the February 25 episode of AEW Dynamite, leading to an on-the-fly adjustment to the planned finish of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship match.
Ford teamed with Megan Bayne as MegaBad to challenge Babes of Wrath, the duo of Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale. However, the bout had to be altered mid-match after Ford was ruled unable to continue.
According to PWInsider, there was immediate concern backstage that Ford may have suffered a broken ankle. Fortunately, a post-match examination reportedly indicated that the situation may not be as serious as initially feared. That said, the exact nature and severity of the injury have not been disclosed. As of now, it remains unclear whether Ford will miss any ring time or how long she could be sidelined if she is forced to take time off.
The uncertainty adds to what has already been a difficult stretch of injury setbacks for Ford. She only recently returned from a months-long absence caused by a right shoulder injury sustained while performing a moonsault to the floor. Although she made her comeback sooner than expected, the shoulder issue kept her out of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament. During that period, Marina Shafir stepped in as Bayne’s partner.
Ford also previously endured a lengthy 20-month absence between 2023 and 2024 due to multiple health-related issues. In addition, she missed six months in 2022 after not being medically cleared to compete.
For now, AEW officials and fans alike await further updates on Ford’s condition, hoping this latest setback proves to be minor.
