Drew McIntyre Explains Royal Rumble Interference

Drew McIntyre Explains Royal Rumble Interference – Drew McIntyre made his presence felt during the Men’s Royal Rumble this past Saturday, directly impacting Cody Rhodes’ chances of winning the match. The Undisputed WWE Champion appeared at ringside and struck Rhodes with a Claymore while Rhodes was hanging over the top rope, leading to his elimination. The move continued a rivalry that has stretched over the past six months and added another layer to McIntyre’s growing dominance as champion.

Following the Royal Rumble, McIntyre addressed his actions during the official post-show. He made it clear that his decision was deliberate and rooted in his ongoing issues with Rhodes. McIntyre stated that now that he holds the championship, he has no interest in allowing Rhodes to position himself for another title opportunity at WrestleMania 42.

“Why not? I am a good guy. I never lie … If you don’t wrong me, I will be your best friend, but if you wrong me and you constantly cost me the championship and get on my bad side, I will be the worst enemy you have ever had,” McIntyre said. He went on to explain that he believes Rhodes thrives while chasing a title, while his own strength comes from being champion. “I heard somebody say that Cody Rhodes is his absolute best when he is in chase mode, when he is after the title. Drew McIntyre is at his absolute best when he is holding the championship. Cody, I will make your life a living hell. I was fine with anybody winning the rumble, just not you.”

Roman Reigns ultimately won the Men’s Royal Rumble, earning the right to challenge for a world championship at WrestleMania. While reports have suggested that Reigns may choose to face CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, McIntyre publicly encouraged Reigns to select him instead. He pointed to unresolved issues between the two, specifically referencing The Bloodline’s past involvement in costing him championship opportunities.

With WrestleMania 42 approaching, McIntyre’s comments and actions suggest that he is prepared to confront any challenger, while ensuring that Cody Rhodes remains firmly outside the title picture for now.
