Trey Miguel Released From AEW Contract Shortly After Signing

Trey Miguel Released From AEW Contract Shortly After Signing – Trey Miguel’s time with All Elite Wrestling appears to have ended almost as quickly as it began. According to Fightful Select, Miguel was released from his AEW contract within the last few days, reportedly just over a week after officially signing with the company. No specific reason was given for the sudden departure, though the report noted that both sides are said to be on amicable terms.

The timing raised questions after The Rascalz made their on-screen debut during Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision. Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz appeared in a backstage interview segment, but Miguel was noticeably absent. That absence was addressed the following day when Miguel posted a statement on social media, announcing that he would be stepping away from professional wrestling for the time being.

“Taking a break from wrestling. Please respect my space and don’t tag me in any posts or comments. Go support the Rascalz still,” Miguel wrote.

Despite his release and public announcement, Fightful Select reported that all four members of The Rascalz were backstage together in Phoenix this past Wednesday. That detail suggests the situation developed rapidly and may have involved personal considerations rather than creative or disciplinary issues.

The Rascalz’ recent run has already included several unexpected twists. After Dezmond Xavier was released from his WWE contract, the group reunited briefly in TNA Wrestling, making multiple appearances before their deals expired at the end of the year. From there, the trio transitioned toward AEW, with Myron Reed also involved in recent plans.

Reed was originally advertised for Thursday’s premiere episode of TNA iMPACT on AMC but was quietly pulled from the show after Leon Slater was unable to appear due to visa complications. Despite Reed having signed with AEW, he was reportedly willing to honor that TNA commitment.

As of now, there is no indication of whether Miguel’s break from wrestling is short-term or long-term. With AEW and Miguel reportedly parting on good terms, the door remains open for a potential return in the future, should circumstances change.
