TNA Addresses Production Issues Ahead of Second iMPACT on AMC

TNA Addresses Production Issues Ahead of Second iMPACT on AMC – TNA Wrestling is reportedly taking internal action to correct the production problems that overshadowed its return to weekly cable television last week.

According to PWInsider, sources within TNA confirmed that the issues seen during the iMPACT on AMC premiere were discussed internally, and the company is hopeful they will be resolved by this week’s episode. One source summarized the situation clearly, stating, “In speaking with TNA sources about last week’s production issues, we were told they were addressed internally and the hope is the issues will be rectified this week.”

The report follows widespread criticism from fans and industry veterans after the January 15 debut episode. Viewers pointed out several problems throughout the broadcast, including audio inconsistencies, awkward camera angles, and visual choices that made the show feel disjointed. Much of the criticism centered on how the presentation came across to first-time or returning viewers tuning in on a major cable network.

Eric Bischoff was among the most outspoken critics. Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, the former WCW President questioned nearly every aspect of the production, from the directing to the overall structure of the show. “The format itself was just really not very well – it wasn’t well-produced. I don’t know who’s writing their show, who’s producing their show, who’s directing their show. All of them have some work to do,” Bischoff said.

Bischoff also took issue with specific visual decisions, particularly an overhead camera angle that he felt made the ring and venue appear far smaller than they actually were. “The ring looks like you could fit it in my kitchen… The overhead shot they used made it look like a postage stamp. I would never use that shot again if they’re going to keep that same ring,” he said.

Another point of criticism involved how celebrity guests were presented on camera. Bischoff mocked their placement in what appeared to be an empty section of the building, arguing it hurt the atmosphere. “Whoever decided to post those celebrities in the one corner of the building where there were no freaking people… They looked like jabronis.”

Despite the harsh feedback, PWInsider’s reporting indicates TNA management is fully aware of the backlash and taking it seriously. With this week’s episode approaching quickly, the company is under pressure to show immediate improvement and reassure viewers that the AMC move represents growth rather than a step backward.

First impressions are difficult to undo, especially on a new network, but TNA now has an opportunity to course-correct. Whether those internal fixes translate to a smoother, more polished iMPACT will be clear once the show goes live.

The Thursday, January 15 episode of TNA iMPACT! averaged 173,000 viewers and posted a 0.04 rating in the key 18–49 demographic.
