Chris Jericho Speculation Grows Ahead Of WWE Royal Rumble – WWE is set to present the 2026 Royal Rumble premium live event later today and one name continuing to generate widespread discussion is Chris Jericho.
According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is believed to be a strong possibility that Jericho could be involved in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match. The report stated that this idea would be consistent with internal discussions that were taking place roughly a month ago, adding more weight to the speculation surrounding his potential appearance.
As of this writing, Jericho remains listed on All Elite Wrestling’s official roster page. However, he has not appeared on AEW television since April 2025. At the time, his absence was initially linked to outside commitments with his band, Fozzy. As the months passed, reports increasingly suggested that the former AEW World Champion was nearing the end of his run with the company.
Additional rumors surfaced in recent weeks claiming WWE had trademarked Fozzy’s entrance theme “Judas,” which has long been associated with Jericho. Those reports were later refuted, but they nonetheless contributed to the ongoing speculation. Media reports had also indicated that Jericho’s AEW contract was expected to expire at the end of December, further fueling questions about his status, even though his name has remained on AEW’s roster listings.
Adding to the intrigue, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque appeared on ESPN’s Get Up on Wednesday morning and stated that fans should expect “a lot of surprises in store” at WWE Royal Rumble: Riyadh. While Levesque did not reference any names directly, the comment has only intensified expectations surrounding unexpected appearances.
Whether Jericho ultimately appears or not, his name remains one of the most talked-about possibilities heading into the Royal Rumble, underscoring the level of uncertainty and anticipation surrounding tonight’s event.
