Blue League Shake-Ups, and Darby Allin Injury Update Following 12/6 AEW Collision

Blue League Shake-Ups, and Darby Allin Injury Update – The December 6 edition of AEW Collision delivered the fourth night of action in the AEW Continental Classic, featuring three Blue League bouts and an important update regarding the tournament lineup.

Orange Cassidy opened the night against Roderick Strong in a Blue League match that saw Strong control much of the offense. Strong targeted Cassidy’s back throughout the contest, repeatedly driving him onto his knee for multiple backbreakers. Despite the punishment, Cassidy stayed in the fight and caught Strong with a well-timed rollup to score the pin. With the win, Cassidy now holds 3 points in the Continental Classic.

Another Blue League match on Collision saw Mascara Dorada take on Claudio Castagnoli. In one of the night’s biggest surprises, Dorada secured a major upset victory over the former ROH World Champion. The win gives Dorada 3 points in the tournament and shifts the momentum of the Blue League standings.

Collision’s main event featured Jon Moxley vs Konosuke Takeshita in a highly physical Blue League encounter. Moxley pushed the pace early, but Takeshita turned the tide with heavy striking and explosive offense. The finish came when Takeshita connected with a running knee and followed with Raging Fire to score the three count. Takeshita now sits at the top of the Blue League with 6 points.

Fans also received a significant medical update regarding the tournament. Darby Allin has been officially pulled from the Continental Classic after being ruled not medically cleared. AEW announced that Jack Perry will take Allin’s place moving forward. Allin was injured during his November 26 AEW Dynamite match against Kevin Knight, a Gold League bout where a risky landing left him needing immediate medical attention and a trip to the hospital.
