Kendal Grey Wins Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline – Kendal Grey delivered the biggest victory of her NXT run so far at Deadline, securing her place at New Year’s Evil with a last-second triumph in the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge. The EVOLVE Women’s Champion entered the match as an underdog but left with three decisive pins and a championship opportunity against Jacy Jayne on January 6.
The closing stretch of the match saw all five competitors tied, creating a frantic final minute. Sol Ruca connected with the Sol Snatcher on Lola Vice at ringside, briefly giving her a path to victory. As Ruca regained her footing, Kelani Jordan burst out of the penalty box, immediately attacking and hitting a 450 splash to steal the pin. Just as Jordan went for the cover, Jordynne Grace stormed in to break it up, pulling Jordan into a brawl that spilled to the floor.
With Vice struggling to recover and the rest of the field tied up in chaos, Grey seized the moment. She launched off the top rope and hit the Shades of Grey on Vice, scoring the match-winning pinfall just as the clock struck 25 minutes. That fall placed her alone at the top of the scoreboard, giving her the victory in dramatic fashion.
As Grey celebrated with Wren Sinclair, Jacy Jayne and the rest of Fatal Influence appeared on the stage. The challenger and champion locked eyes in a tense staredown, establishing the tone for their collision at New Year’s Evil.
The win marks a major milestone in Grey’s upward climb. Since Charlie Dempsey’s departure for Japan left Wren Sinclair without an ally, Sinclair formed a new partnership with Grey. The two have built momentum quickly, with Grey picking up televised victories, including a successful EVOLVE Women’s Title defense against Laney Reid during last month’s NXT Gold Rush.
Grey now heads into New Year’s Evil with momentum, confidence, and a championship shot on one of NXT’s biggest nights of the year.
