The Last Time Is Now Tournament Quarterfinals Set

The Last Time Is Now Tournament Quarterfinals Set – The November 21 episode of WWE SmackDown finalized the quarterfinal matchups for The Last Time Is Now tournament, setting the stage for the next round as the road to John Cena’s final match continues. Two more competitors secured their places on Friday night, giving fans a clearer picture of the tournament’s direction heading into Survivor Series weekend.

Carmelo Hayes earned his advancement in the opening bout of the night, defeating Bronson Reed by countout. Reed appeared in control until Cody Rhodes — still bruised from an earlier assault by The Vision in the buildup to War Games — stormed back to ringside. Rhodes attacked Reed without hesitation, slamming him into the steel post before dropping him with the Cross Rhodes on the floor. The damage left Reed unable to return to the ring before the referee’s ten count, giving Hayes the victory and a spot in the next round.

Later in the show, Penta secured his own tournament win by defeating Finn Balor. The match turned in Penta’s favor when he connected with the Mexican Destroyer, ending the bout and punching his ticket to the quarterfinals.

After both matches, WWE announced the updated tournament brackets. On one side, Jey Uso will meet Rusev. The winner of that bout will advance to face whoever emerges victorious between LA Knight and a yet-to-be-revealed mystery opponent. Sheamus was originally scheduled for that matchup but was removed due to a shoulder injury.

On the opposite side of the bracket, Penta’s next challenge will be Finn Balor, with the winner moving forward to take on either Solo Sikoa or Carmelo Hayes. Each remaining match now carries significant weight, as the tournament winner will go on to face John Cena in his final match, scheduled for the December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C.
