Saraya Plans to Resume Training for Potential In-Ring Return in 2026 – Saraya is beginning to feel the pull back toward professional wrestling after spending most of 2025 away from the ring.
The former WWE and AEW star stepped away earlier this year following a mutual departure from the company in March. Since then, she has focused on outside projects, including the release of her memoir and the launch of her “Rulebreakers” podcast. But in a new interview with the Toronto Sun, Saraya made it clear she’s thinking seriously about returning — and training could start as soon as January.
“I’ve had a wonderful year to kind of, you know, dip my toe into the outside of wrestling world. And it’s been so wonderful, and I have loved it, and I have enjoyed it. But, you know, once you’re a wrestler, you always miss it,” Saraya said. “I am starting to get the bug for it again. Because I went through a stage where I kind of, like, fell out of love with it for a second. And I’m just like, ‘I need to take a break from it.’ And that was the whole goal, you know?
“But I’ve just found, like, this new love for it again. And I’ve found this new passion for it again. I’m going to get into training in January, and we’ll see where that takes me. Because I feel like I do — if I was to ever come back, not saying I am, but if I was to ever come back, I want to be at the top of my game and be wrestling better than I was wrestling back when I was in NXT. So that’s my goal.”
Saraya also revealed she has spoken with her close friend Natalya about the possibility of training at the Dungeon, something she would “absolutely love” to pursue. That option, along with her growing desire to return, has made the chances of an in-ring comeback stronger than they’ve been all year.
“I miss it. I love it,” Saraya added. “I think the percentage of me going back is a lot higher now, you know? But we’ll see where it goes. We’ll see where it goes. Who knows what will happen?”
While many fans continue to express interest in seeing her return — including possible matchups with former WWE colleagues such as AJ Lee — Saraya explained she avoids talking too much about potential opponents or companies because social media often twists her comments into claims she’s asking for a job.
Away from the ring, she continues to enjoy hosting her “Rulebreakers” podcast and hinted that another book could be in her future, noting she still has “so much life left to live.”
