Ric Flair Claims Street Drugs Played A Role In Hulk Hogan’s Passing – Ric Flair has shared new and controversial comments regarding the death of Hulk Hogan, suggesting that what ultimately took the life of the wrestling icon was not the previously reported cause. During an in-depth appearance on the Double Coverage podcast, Flair discussed Hogan’s final days and claimed that “street drugs” contributed to his passing.
Flair said he spoke to Hogan the day before he died and made it clear he believes pain management issues were at the center of everything.
“I talked to him the day before he died. I shouldn’t say this, but what killed him was street drugs.”
Flair continued by explaining that Hogan had been struggling with severe pain following a neck surgery that later became infected, forcing him back into the hospital. According to Flair, once Hogan’s doctors refused to prescribe more pain medication, the situation took a turn.
“When the doctor wouldn’t prescribe anymore, he was in so much pain. And he had that neck surgery and it got infected so back in the hospital.”
Flair said Hogan then resorted to obtaining drugs outside of medical supervision.
“And then when the doctor would not prescribe any more pain medicine. They just couldn’t do it in all good conscience. So they went and got the drugs off the street. His body just said, ‘You know what? Bingo. I can’t do it anymore.’”
Flair also predicted that additional details regarding Hogan’s passing will be made public soon.
“It’s all going to come out in the media in the next 30 days. You’ll read about it anyway. I just don’t feel free to talk about it.”
Hulk Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, passed away on July 24, 2025, at age 71. His reported cause of death was listed as an acute myocardial infarction.
