Report Clarifies NXT Talent Salaries Amid Claims of Low Pay – Recent comments from former WWE NXT stars, including the former Ridge Holland and the former Gigi Dolin, have stirred discussion about how developmental talent is compensated. Both wrestlers have suggested that pay within NXT can be alarmingly low, with Dolin claiming that some performers earned as little as $30,000 annually.
However, according to Bryan Alvarez, those claims don’t tell the full story. Speaking on the Wrestling Observer platforms, Alvarez reported that entry-level NXT contracts are significantly higher than what has been suggested.
“Confirmed NXT deals start at $75,000,” Alvarez stated, clarifying that “big-name talent brought in from the outside obviously make more than that.” He also made it clear that “nobody is making $30,000.”
Alvarez went on to explain that the only individuals making below that range are those signed to what WWE calls “ID contracts.” These agreements differ from the standard developmental deals, as they are not salaried positions under TKO Group Holdings.
“ID talent make much less than $30,000, but they aren’t under an official TKO contractual salaried deal,” Alvarez noted. “They’re paid a small amount to help upgrade their look, etc.”
The former Ridge Holland, who was released from his NXT deal earlier this month, has spoken publicly about financial challenges following his departure. Meanwhile, Priscilla Kelly (the former Gigi Dolin) has also criticized NXT’s pay structure since her release in May.
Alvarez’s report suggests that while WWE’s developmental pay scale varies, the standard compensation for contracted NXT wrestlers is higher than some of the figures being circulated online.
