AEW Adjusts December Schedule To Avoid SNME Competition

AEW Adjusts December Schedule To Avoid SNME Competition – AEW has released its full December broadcast calendar, confirming several timing adjustments across Dynamite and Collision. The most notable change affects the December 13 episode of Collision, which will now air at 4:30 p.m. EST. This shift prevents the show from running against John Cena’s advertised final match, scheduled for the same evening on WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event at 7:30 p.m. EST. The change was announced through a Warner Bros. Discovery press release outlining AEW’s holiday programming plan for the remainder of the year.

The updated schedule features multiple time changes throughout the month, including early holiday-themed broadcasts and a rare three-show lineup on December 17. The month also includes several pre-taped episodes, with the Hammerstein Ballroom hosting both the Dynamite on 34th Street and Christmas Collision tapings on December 20 and 21 before they air on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Here is the full AEW schedule for December as confirmed in the release:

  • December 3: AEW Dynamite, 8 p.m.
  • December 6: AEW Collision, 8 p.m.
  • December 10: AEW Dynamite, 8 p.m.
  • December 13: AEW Collision, 4:30 p.m.
  • December 17: AEW Dynamite, 8 p.m.; AEW Collision, 10 p.m.; AEW Countdown to World’s End 2025, 11 p.m.
  • December 19: Classic episodes of AEW Dynamite, Rampage, and Battle of the Belts from 2022
  • December 20: AEW Collision, 2:30 p.m.
  • December 24: AEW Dynamite – Dynamite on 34th Street, 6 p.m.
  • December 25: AEW Collision – Collision Christmas, 9 p.m.
  • December 27: AEW World’s End PPV, 8 p.m.
  • December 31: AEW Dynamite – Dynamite New Year Smash 2025, 8 p.m.

The December 27 World’s End event currently has no Tailgate Brawl pre-show listed at this time.

WWE’s plans for the December 13 Cena special continue moving forward with “The Last Time is Now” tournament. The brackets shifted this week after Sheamus was removed due to a shoulder injury. Upcoming quarterfinal matches include Gunther vs. Carmelo Hayes and Solo Sikoa vs. Penta, with the tournament winner earning the right to face Cena in what is being promoted as his final in-ring appearance.

The timing changes mark one of AEW’s most substantial single-month schedule adjustments in recent years, structured to avoid direct sports-entertainment competition while accommodating holiday programming and special events across both Dynamite and Collision.
