WWE Survivor Series WarGames Plans Following Seth Rollins’ Injury – WWE’s creative direction for the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series has reportedly undergone adjustments following Seth Rollins’ shoulder injury at Crown Jewel. The former World Heavyweight Champion was forced to vacate the title, prompting necessary changes to previously discussed booking plans.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original idea for the match featured Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Austin Theory, and Brock Lesnar against CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jacob Fatu, and either LA Knight or Jimmy Uso. With Rollins sidelined, however, WWE has restructured the lineup while keeping the core concept largely the same.
“Since many have asked, as of press time, the men’s WarGames match was still a Punk & Reigns team against The Vision-led team,” the report noted, suggesting that the existing framework remains centered on the emerging rivalry between CM Punk and the Paul Heyman-led faction known as The Vision.
The Vision currently consists of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, who turned on Rollins under Heyman’s direction. Despite Rollins’ absence, Breakker and Reed are still expected to play central roles in the upcoming WarGames bout.
The Observer also revealed that another possible direction had been discussed internally, involving The Wyatt Sicks and The MFTs. However, that idea appears to have been set aside. “Some thought with all the injuries that it would be changed to the Wyatts vs. MFTs since they are clearly doing a multi-person program there as well,” Dave Meltzer reported.
For now, WWE remains focused on the Punk–Heyman rivalry as the foundation of the WarGames story. CM Punk is slated to face Jey Uso for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, while Survivor Series: WarGames is scheduled for Saturday, November 29, at Petco Park in San Diego, California.
