His history with Hologram — formerly known as Aramis — runs deep, as the two have been long-time rivals in Mexico, often crossing paths in high-profile matches and storylines. Their established chemistry makes the El Clon angle a continuation of their storied rivalry on a new stage.
The report also revealed that WWE had recently expressed interest in bringing Arez into the company, urging him to finalize a new deal with AAA. Arez disclosed WWE’s approach to AEW, which quickly responded with an offer of their own. Arez ultimately agreed to join AEW, strengthening their roster as WWE — which acquired AAA in April — continues to expand its reach. The move also highlights AEW’s ongoing partnership with CMLL, keeping their doors open to fresh international talent.
