8/30 AEW Collision Results

8/30 AEW Collision Results – The latest episode of AEW Collision emanated from the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, bringing a lively crowd and a loaded night of action. Commentary was handled by Tony Schiavone alongside Nigel McGuinness.

Daniel Garcia vs. Blake Christian

Winner: Daniel Garcia (6:06)

Daniel Garcia, accompanied by Matt Menard, opened the evening against Blake Christian, who had Lee Johnson in his corner. The match carried extra intrigue after Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir unexpectedly appeared as the opening bell rang. Moxley leaned in close, whispering something to Garcia before departing with Shafir, leaving Menard baffled on commentary.

Garcia came out swinging with a stiff back elbow and followed up with a vicious boot on the outside. Christian capitalized on a distraction from Johnson, nailing a tope suicida and then landing a standing moonsault from the barricade to shift momentum. Inside the ring, Christian applied a grinding chinlock to wear Garcia down.

Fighting back, Garcia unleashed a series of forearms and heavy chops before connecting with a Twist ’n Shout neckbreaker for a two count. Christian rallied with a springboard DDT and attempted a 450 splash, but Garcia cut him off mid-flight, transitioning into a guillotine choke before drilling him with a piledriver for the pinfall victory.

Afterward, Tony Schiavone asked Garcia about Moxley’s mysterious words, but Garcia deflected, issuing a direct challenge to Moxley for next week instead. Wheeler Yuta and Shafir emerged to accept on Moxley’s behalf, with Yuta mocking Garcia and reminding him that the Blackpool Combat Club had already defeated the “real American Dragon.” Shafir pulled Yuta away as tensions simmered.

Kyle Fletcher & Josh Alexander vs. Tomohiro Ishii & Kyle O’Reilly

Winners: Fletcher & Alexander (13:00)

The Don Callis Family was represented by Kyle Fletcher and Josh Alexander, who squared off against Tomohiro Ishii and Kyle O’Reilly. Philadelphia immediately leaned into the “Kyle vs. Kyle” dynamic, with dueling chants filling the arena.

O’Reilly and Alexander kicked things off with smooth mat wrestling exchanges before Ishii tagged in, blasting Alexander with forearms and a shoulder tackle that flattened him. Fletcher offered ringside advice, allowing Alexander to regain control by targeting Ishii with a knee strike.

When both teams made tags, the crowd erupted for the first O’Reilly vs. Fletcher exchange. O’Reilly nearly submitted Fletcher with an armbar into an ankle lock, during which Fletcher suffered a cut above his left eye. Ishii dished out brutal chops before being booted to the floor. Fletcher and Alexander double-teamed to seize momentum, wearing down O’Reilly.

The battle turned chaotic as Alexander missed a top-rope moonsault, leading to a double clothesline that floored both men. Ishii’s hot tag brought a flurry of offense, including a devastating brainbuster on Fletcher for a close near fall. A wild sequence saw Fletcher hit a superkick, Ishii retaliate with a German suplex, and Fletcher spike Ishii with a Michinoku Driver.

Back inside, O’Reilly and Alexander traded submissions—guillotine into ankle lock, countered back into another hold—before O’Reilly dropped Alexander with strikes and suplexes for a two count. The finish came when O’Reilly missed a running knee on the outside, crashing into the barricade. Fletcher tripped Ishii, setting up Alexander to nail a low blow and a package piledriver for the win.

Roderick Strong checked on O’Reilly afterward, though O’Reilly seemed more concerned about Ishii’s condition.

Hologram vs. Jay Lethal

Winner: Hologram (9:54)

Jay Lethal squared off with the mysterious Hologram in a competitive contest. Early on, both men countered each other’s holds until Lethal found an opening with a backbreaker and a suplex slam.

Hologram responded with a crisp enziguri, but Lethal answered with a snap suplex and a springboard dropkick that sent Hologram tumbling outside, following with a suicide dive. Not to be outdone, Hologram answered with a dive of his own once back inside the ropes.

Momentum swung as Hologram hit a high-angle Death Valley Driver for a near fall. Lethal countered with the Lethal Combination and climbed the ropes for his signature elbow drop, only for Hologram to reverse into a cradle for two. After surviving a figure-four leg lock, Hologram countered the Lethal Injection with a backstabber and sealed the win with a helicopter sit-out powerbomb.

Post-match, Hologram’s entrance music once again “glitched,” and the arena turned ominously red with the words “Clon activated” flashing on the screen, hinting at a deeper mystery.

Alex Windsor vs. Ashley Vox

Winner: Alex Windsor (1:11)

Alex Windsor dominated Ashley Vox in short order, finishing her with a powerbomb and immediately forcing a tap with a sharpshooter.

Following the squash, Schiavone interviewed Windsor, who directed her ire at Mercedes Moné, blasting her for making light of Will Ospreay’s injuries. Windsor demanded a showdown with Moné in Philadelphia.

FTR vs. JD Drake & Adam Priest

Winners: FTR (8:50)

FTR competed without Stokely Hathaway, taking on JD Drake and Adam Priest. Harwood found himself isolated early, with Drake and Priest targeting his leg. Drake wowed the crowd with a slingshot senton and a near-miss moonsault, but FTR used veteran savvy to turn the tide.

The Revival executed the Shatter Machine on Drake, while Priest tried valiantly to fight them both off. Harwood cut him down with stiff strikes, then locked Priest in Adam Copeland’s version of the crossface to earn the tap-out victory.

Cash Wheeler delivered a heated promo afterward, though the crowd drowned him out with boos. Dax Harwood steadied things, declaring that FTR’s rivalry with Adam Copeland and Christian Cage was no longer about dream matches—it was about ending careers.

Big Bill (w/ Bryan Keith) vs. Juice Robinson (w/ cut-outs of Bullet Club Gold)

Winner: Big Bill (9:28)

Big Bill, accompanied by Bryan Keith, faced Juice Robinson, who amusingly had cardboard cut-outs of Austin and Colten Gunn, along with Jay White, at ringside.

Robinson tried grounding Bill with headlocks, but the big man broke free with athletic counters, including a leapfrog and a brutal big boot that sent Juice outside. The two brawled near the entranceway, smashing each other into a steel support beam before returning to the ring.

Bill slowed things with a bearhug, only for Robinson to rally with his trademark offense—rapid punches, a sliding dropkick to the knee, the Left Hand of God, and a shotgun dropkick for two.

When Robinson climbed the ropes, Keith interfered, allowing Bill to capitalize with a Black Hole Slam to seal the win.

Women’s Trios Match: Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa & Queen Aminata vs. Billie Starkz, Julia Hart & Skye Blue

Winners: Storm, Shirakawa & Aminata (12:01)

In a featured women’s trios match, Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa, and Queen Aminata took on Billie Starkz, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue.

Storm received loud chants from the Philadelphia crowd and controlled Blue early, while Aminata impressed with powerful suplexes and her Chocolate Kisses forearm. Shirakawa soared with a crossbody to the floor as the babyfaces dominated early.

After the break, Storm delivered German suplexes and shotgun dropkicks, while Hart appeared shaken after a stiff shot bloodied her nose. Shirakawa tied Hart in a unique cloverleaf variation, and Aminata leveled Starkz on the outside. The finish came when Shirakawa planted Starkz with the Glamorous Driver for the decisive pinfall.

The celebration was short-lived as Thekla blindsided Shirakawa and Aminata. The heels gained the numbers advantage, with Hart and Blue joining Thekla to lay out Storm with a spear and double-team offense. The Triangle of Madness trio stood tall to close the show.

Closing Notes

Before the broadcast ended, Tony Schiavone confirmed two major matches:

  • Mercedes Moné vs. Alex Windsor for the TBS Championship will take place on Dynamite this Wednesday.
  • Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia is official for next week’s Collision.

AEW left Philadelphia buzzing, with multiple rivalries escalating and new storylines taking shape heading into a pivotal September stretch.
