TNA President Responds to Fan Criticism After NXT Talent Win Top Titles at Slammiversary – TNA Slammiversary 2025 was a milestone event for the company, drawing its largest-ever announced North American attendance. However, despite the buzz and packed crowd, the post-show conversation among fans has largely centered around disappointment—specifically, the fact that both of TNA’s top championships are now held by WWE NXT talent.

The event’s main event saw Trick Williams successfully retain the TNA World Championship by defeating Joe Hendry and Mike Santana in a triple threat match. Earlier in the night, Jacy Jayne captured the TNA Knockouts Championship with a victory over Masha Slamovich. These results drew criticism online, with many fans questioning the creative direction and whether the outcomes serve TNA’s long-term interests.

In an interview on Battleground Podcast with Tim, TNA President Anthony Silva addressed the backlash and acknowledged the fans’ frustration.

“How do you respond? You respond that I understand and I get it. If you saw the look on my face, that’s all part of wrestling. There were some great payoffs at Slammiversary with Leon (Slater) and there are going to be some great payoffs as we build again to Bound for Glory,” Silva said. “These are the paths that happen as you build these matchups. For the fans, I guess what I would say is, I’m glad the fans are talking about it. That means we matter and they care. We care and we’re going to keep growing it together.”

Silva’s comments come as Trick Williams and Jacy Jayne prepare to appear on the upcoming episode of WWE NXT. Trick is scheduled for a segment with WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker, while Jayne is expected to make her first televised appearance with the Knockouts Title.

While the presence of NXT talent holding TNA gold has sparked division among the fanbase, Silva remains optimistic, focusing on the storytelling and long-term buildup toward Bound for Glory later this year.
