Trick Williams Fakes Inury, Retains at TNA Slammiversary – NXT’s Trick Williams remains on top of TNA after successfully defending the TNA World Championship in the main event of Slammiversary 2025, overcoming Joe Hendry and Mike Santana in a triple threat bout that ended in dramatic and controversial fashion.

The match’s decisive moment came after Trick appeared to suffer a knee injury mid-match, prompting officials to check on him outside the ring. With Williams seemingly incapacitated, the action intensified between Hendry and Santana inside the ring. Santana nearly secured the win after delivering back-to-back Spin the Block spinning lariats to Hendry and going for the pin.

Just as the three count seemed imminent, Trick “miraculously” recovered and dove back into the ring to break up the fall. He immediately tossed Santana out of the ring and stole the pinfall on Hendry, securing his fourth successful defense of the TNA World Title.

After the bell, TNA President Carlos Silva entered the ring and personally handed Trick the championship belt. Williams raised Silva’s hand and laughed as he celebrated the retention, solidifying his presence as the top man in TNA—even if it took questionable tactics to keep it that way.

Earlier in the match, Hendry seemed poised to reclaim the title when he delivered his Standing Ovation finisher on Trick. However, Frankie Kazarian—who was at the commentary desk—interfered by pulling the referee out of the ring before the count could be completed. Security quickly responded, and Kazarian was ejected from ringside.

Trick Williams captured the TNA World Championship from Joe Hendry at WWE NXT Battleground 2025, and Slammiversary marked his fourth successful title defense since that win. His use of mind games, interference, and timely deception has become a recurring theme in his reign—and Sunday night was no different.
