Moose Hints at Hiatus Following TNA Slammiversary Loss

Moose Hints at Hiatus Following TNA Slammiversary Loss – Following his defeat at TNA Slammiversary 2025, former TNA X-Division Champion Moose has hinted at stepping away from the ring — at least for the immediate future.

Moose dropped the X-Division Title to rising star Leon Slater on Sunday night at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York. The loss marked a significant shift in the division and came amid what now appears to be a personal turning point for the veteran.

Shortly after the event, Moose took to Instagram to reflect on the moment and share his current mindset.

“I’ve accomplished almost everything here at TNA Wrestling,” Moose wrote. “Leon Slater, I have the ultimate respect for you and the X-Division is now in your hands….. SHOW THEM HELL.”

He followed up with a note on his future, implying a temporary exit from competition. “For me it’s time to take a step back…. Get healthy and see what’s next… I’ll be back soon.”

Moose, a cornerstone of TNA programming and a prominent member of The System faction, has been one of the company’s most consistent and decorated performers in recent years. He previously held the TNA World Championship and more recently had been positioned as the face of the X-Division during its renewed emphasis on athleticism and high-impact storytelling.

His message suggests the break is not permanent but more about physical and mental reset. As of now, there’s no official word from TNA Wrestling on how long Moose will be out of action or whether this could be part of a storyline direction.

With Slater now carrying the torch for the X-Division, Moose’s absence could open the door for new rivalries and opportunities for other emerging talent within the division. Meanwhile, questions will remain about what’s next for The System — especially if one of its top stars is taking time off.
