The Boogeyman, known for his unsettling presence and worm-eating antics, has issued a public plea to WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque for one final run in the company.
The man behind the face paint, Martin Wright, took to social media to signal his interest in a comeback. Though the message was brief, it was unmistakably aimed at Triple H, sparking speculation among longtime fans of the supernatural gimmick that once terrified both opponents and audiences.
Wright first stepped into WWE’s spotlight in 2004 during the fourth season of Tough Enough. Despite being cut from the competition after it was discovered he had lied about his age—he was 40, not 30—he was eventually signed to a developmental contract. In 2005, The Boogeyman officially debuted on SmackDown, quickly gaining attention with his bizarre promos, unsettling entrance, and signature habit of consuming live worms.
He remained active on WWE programming until 2009 and has since returned sporadically for cameo appearances and nostalgia spots, including segments on RAW’s special anniversary shows. While he hasn’t wrestled for WWE in recent years, his most recent match came in 2024, when he entered a battle royal for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion.
At over 60 years old, another full-time WWE run seems unlikely. However, given WWE’s history of bringing back legacy characters for special appearances—particularly those who still resonate with fans—The Boogeyman’s message could lead to one more moment in the spotlight. Whether Triple H sees fit to answer that call remains to be seen.
