Sources Cite Longstanding Concerns Over Vince McMahon’s Driving Ability – More information has come to light regarding the serious car accident involving Vince McMahon, an incident that one of the drivers involved, Barbara Doran, described as something she was “lucky to have survived.”

According to reports, McMahon’s Bentley suffered severe damage in the crash, including the complete detachment of the front passenger-side wheel. While McMahon reportedly escaped major injury, the aftermath of the crash has sparked a wave of reactions from within the wrestling world — particularly among those who’ve worked closely with him over the years.

Several sources noted that McMahon’s reputation as an aggressive and unpredictable driver dates back decades. One longtime WWE employee shared that it was an internal “running joke,” but one “rooted in truth,” that Vince was known as an “erratic driver.” In fact, some within his inner circle would go out of their way to avoid riding with him due to those concerns.

Contrary to some speculation online, McMahon hasn’t completely relied on a driver in recent years. While he has occasionally been chauffeured — especially during his full-time WWE travel schedule — one source noted that Vince has always preferred to drive himself. They added that he often said it helped him feel “grounded,” although the same source couldn’t help but quip that it’s ironic McMahon chooses to feel “grounded” while driving a $250,000 Bentley.

Barbara Doran, founder and CEO of BD8 Capital Partners, was the other driver involved in the crash. She shared her account in a Facebook post, providing a harrowing description of the incident.

“Lucky to have survived a horrific car crash on the way up to catch the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard last Thursday morning,” Doran wrote. “Both cars totaled. Vince McMahon @Mr. McMahon /#VinceMcMahon, former chair of WWE, hit me going 80-90mph as I drove in the right lane of the narrow Merritt Highway (built in the 1930s). I and the dog are mostly fine, but was lucky to have kept control of the car, more or less, as I shot off the road after being catapulted over 100 yards.”

Doran also revealed that a plainclothes state trooper had been following McMahon due to his excessive speed and weaving in and out of traffic. The trooper had just activated his lights to initiate a stop when McMahon swerved and struck Doran’s 2023 BMW 430. The officer later told Doran that McMahon appeared to swerve suddenly upon noticing her vehicle but still struck the rear-left side, causing her car to shoot off the road.

“Both front wheels of McMahon’s Bentley were sheared off, and his airbags deployed, probably saving him from significant injury,” Doran added.

Though she noted that her hands were shaking for 20 minutes following the impact, Doran said she felt physically okay in the immediate aftermath. She is undergoing follow-up medical evaluations to ensure there are no lingering injuries.

While no criminal charges have been announced as of now, the incident is raising renewed questions about Vince McMahon’s driving habits — questions that, according to insiders, have lingered for a very long time.
