Report Reveals Long-Term Planning Behind AEW All In: Texas Top Matches – With AEW All In: Texas just days away, a new report from Fightful Select has revealed that several of the card’s key bouts were the result of long-term creative planning, including the high-stakes Unified Championship match between Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada.
According to the report, the idea to unify the AEW International and AEW Continental Championships had been in motion since before Omega returned from diverticulitis earlier this year. The storyline, now culminating in one of AEW’s most anticipated matches of 2025, has been developing behind the scenes for nearly a year.
Omega and Okada’s match, billed as a Winner Takes All unification bout, continues their storied rivalry and serves as one of the marquee attractions of the July 12 event at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
Also reportedly planned well in advance was the AEW Women’s World Championship clash between “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mercedes Moné. Per Fightful, the idea to feature Moné in a top title match at All In was laid out as early as the first quarter of 2025, marking it as a cornerstone for AEW’s biggest U.S. show to date.
One high-profile match that didn’t make it to the final card was a proposed tag team bout between Cope (Adam Copeland) and Christian Cage against FTR. That match was discussed as early as late 2024 and was among the initial creative plans for this year. However, those plans have since been scrapped, and all three parties are now involved in different storylines heading into All In.
Currently, eight matches are officially confirmed for the pay-per-view. Sources suggest that at least one more multi-performer match is expected to be added by the July 10 episode of Collision, but AEW officials do not plan to overload the card as they have in previous All In events.
The current lineup includes multiple title matches and a pair of Casino Gauntlets, indicating that AEW is focused on delivering a streamlined but impactful event. With the promotion’s largest North American gate already secured and a historic atmosphere expected, All In: Texas is shaping up to be a landmark night for AEW.
