Alexa Bliss Reveals Last-Minute Royal Rumble Return: "No One Knew I Was There"

Alexa Bliss Reveals Last-Minute Royal Rumble Return: “No One Knew I Was There” – Alexa Bliss stunned the WWE Universe with her surprise return at the 2025 Royal Rumble, but the real surprise was how little time she had to prepare. Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, Bliss shared that her return was put together in the middle of the night — a chaotic scramble that had her racing to find gear, pack a bag, and hop on a plane just hours before the live broadcast.

“I got the call at like, midnight the night before,” Bliss revealed. “It wasn’t fully decided until like 4am and I get a call at five. They’re like, ‘Alright, we need you on a plane by 10am.’”

With her gear stashed near her baby’s closet, Bliss tried not to wake her daughter as she dug through outfits in the early hours of the morning. “I’m in my house at 3am… trying not to wake up the baby, because my gear is in, like, next to her closet,” she explained. “And I’m like, looking through old gear, being like, ‘Alright, what could still fit me?’”

WWE went to great lengths to keep her return a secret. Bliss was flown into a different city and then driven to the Rumble venue to avoid being spotted. She arrived just two hours before the show began, exhausted but determined. “I was deliriously tired,” Bliss admitted. “No one knew I was there, not even, you know, the girls didn’t know I was there until I was in gorilla. No one. No one knew.”

Despite the fatigue and nerves, Bliss found comfort in a brief exchange with Stephanie McMahon right before walking through the curtain. The crowd reaction that followed quickly became one of the most meaningful moments of her career.

“That was one of those ones where I just kind of actually took in the moment,” she reflected. “A lot of times when I’m doing my entrance, I’m still thinking about what’s coming next… and that was one of those ones where I just kind of actually took in the moment. And I was like, ‘Wow, this is, this is pretty cool.’”

Now firmly back on SmackDown, Bliss has quickly become a major player again. She’s currently teaming with Charlotte Flair, and the duo is scheduled to compete in a Fatal Four-Way Match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at Evolution on July 13 in Atlanta.
