Chelsea Green Says She’s Fine Being an “Asshole” If It Means More Money – Chelsea Green continues to make her mark on WWE’s SmackDown brand as one of the most consistently entertaining heels in the women’s division. Known for her over-the-top personality and commitment to character, Green has never shied away from playing the foil to WWE’s most beloved babyfaces.
On episode 3 of WWE Unreal on Netflix, Green opened up about her approach to character work, her willingness to be the butt of the joke, and how she balances her comedic performances with serious in-ring aspirations.
“I would say my character is a Karen. I think my role is to provide entertainment and that is in the form of comedic relief and selling for the girls. Selling is the art of taking someone’s move. It’s the way that you take that move and you make it look brutal,” Green explained.
While wins and championships are often the focus of any WWE Superstar’s journey, Green made it clear that she values consistency and visibility just as much.
“For someone to win, somebody else has to lose. Guess what? I’ll be the loser if that means being booked every day. You want me to pour salsa and cake on my head? Say less. We’re getting paid a lot of money to look like assholes. I’m ok with that,” she said with a laugh.
Despite her comedic presentation, Green still has goals and dreams that align with those of her fellow Superstars.
“As much as I talk about ‘winning doesn’t matter’, obviously, of course, as a wrestler, we have goals. We set timelines for ourselves and of course, one of the goals is always to be a WWE champion. Obviously as a female in wrestling, I have thought about what it would look [like] to be in a WrestleMania or win a championship. So I have the perfect outfit set aside that I have been dreaming about wearing,” she added.
Green went on to showcase the gear she wore at Saturday Night’s Main Event when she won the WWE Women’s United States Championship, highlighting a proud moment in her career.
At a time when WWE’s women’s division continues to grow in both talent and visibility, Chelsea Green has carved out a unique space as a performer who’s not afraid to blend comedy with credibility—and who understands that losing the match doesn’t mean losing the spotlight.
As noted, Chelsea Green has recently stepped away from social media following backlash over her comments regarding Hulk Hogan.
