5/9 NJPW Resurgence Results – NJPW presented its Resurgence pay-per-view on Friday, May 10, live from the Toyota Center in Ontario, California, featuring a packed lineup of championship bouts, hard-hitting action, and major returns.

Pre-Show Results:

  • CJ Tino defeated Allan Breeze
    Despite Breeze’s early dominance, Tino scored the win via Sunset Flip.
  • Bea Priestley returned and defeated Viva Van
    In a surprise comeback following the end of her WWE non-compete clause, Priestley survived Van’s early offense and put her away with the Plan Bea.

Main Card Highlights:

Fred Rosser def. Matt Vandagriff
Rosser endured Vandagriff’s athletic onslaught and leg attacks to secure a submission win via Crossface Chickenwing. He nearly refused to release the hold post-match, underscoring the brutal tone.

United Empire (TJP & Templario) def. The World Class Wrecking Crew – New STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions
In a wild, back-and-forth contest, TJP’s Mamba Splash sealed the win following a Powerbomb from Templario. The duo dethroned WCWC in a chaotic finish.

The Young Bucks & The Good Brothers def. BULLET CLUB War Dogs
The Bucks and Good Brothers united to overcome the younger generation of BULLET CLUB. After a Meltzer Driver and Magic Killer combo to Gedo, the veterans stood tall. Post-match, the War Dogs refused to “Too Sweet” their predecessors, making a defiant statement.

Tomohiro Ishii (c) def. Drilla Moloney – Retains STRONG Openweight Championship
In a stiff clash, Moloney threw everything at Ishii, including a Gore and Made in Birmingham, but the champion retained with a devastating Brainbuster.

Konosuke Takeshita (c) def. El Phantasmo – Retains NEVER Openweight Championship
Takeshita survived Phantasmo’s offense and a powerbomb through a table to win following a flurry that ended with his signature Raging Fire finisher. Respect was shown post-match with a handshake.

Hirooki Goto (c) vs. Zack Sabre Jr. – No Contest – IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
In a rematch from New Beginning, both men delivered a technical and physical war. However, a double pinfall led to a controversial no contest. Post-match, Sabre snapped, attacking the referee and throwing Goto’s belt away in disgust.

AZM def. Mercedes Moné (c) & Mina Shirakawa – Wins STRONG Women’s Championship
In a fast-paced triple threat, AZM capitalized on Shirakawa’s attempt to keep Moné out of the ring. With a roll-up just as Moné tried to slide in, AZM stole the victory and the title. Moné’s effort came up short, and AZM begins her reign as the new STRONG Women’s Champion.
