AEW Dynamite Ratings Hold Steady But Continue Declining Year-Over-Year – As AEW builds toward AEW Grand Slam: Australia, the February 5 episode of AEW Dynamite delivered an eventful card featuring Swerve Strickland, Jon Moxley, Toni Storm, and Rated FTR. However, despite the lineup, viewership remained stagnant, continuing a concerning downward trend in AEW’s television ratings.
According to WrestleNomics, Dynamite drew 605,000 viewers with a 0.17 rating in the P18-49 demographic. These numbers are nearly identical to the January 29 episode, which recorded 604,000 viewers and the same key demo rating. While Dynamite ranked as the sixth-highest program on cable during Wednesday’s primetime hours, it primarily faced competition from NBA programming and Fox News.
The consistency in week-to-week ratings does not overshadow Dynamite‘s larger year-over-year decline. The February 5 episode drew 5% fewer viewers than the four-week average, and AEW’s Q1 2025 average viewership is down 23% compared to the same period in 2024. February 2025’s overall viewership has also dropped 26% from February 2024.
The decline is even more pronounced in the P18-49 demographic. Wednesday’s episode saw a 6% drop from the four-week average, while Q1 2025’s key demo performance is down 39% from last year. Compared to February 2024, Dynamite’s average rating in the key demo has fallen by 41%.
It’s important to note that these figures only account for traditional cable viewership on TBS, as measured by Nielsen, and do not include any streaming data from Max. While AEW maintains a strong fan base, the ongoing decline in traditional television ratings raises questions about the company’s long-term trajectory on linear TV.
